Did anyone watch this show on Fox? It was on as the lead in for The X-Files in that shows first year. I think it was on in the 93-94 TV season. It starred Bruce Campbell and was a sort of comedy/western/SciFi series. I liked it, it's a shame that Fox didn't give it another year to catch on. X-Files began to take off in it's second year and probably would have carried Brisco County Jr with it.

My dad, my brother and I used to watch it every week. It's been so long since I've seen it, I can't remember if it came to a close or if it was left with a cliffhanger to be resolved in the second season.

In the last episode the gang Brisco was always after was rounded up and he and his sidekick literally rode off into the horizon together.

The interesting thing about Brisco and X-Files is that FOX had originally thought that Brisco was going to be the big hit and put more effort into promoting it than X-Files. Of course we're all well aware of which one turned out to be the huge hit. The story FOX used when explaining why they canned Brisco was that the rating were not good enough to justify production costs, even though the ratings were pretty solid. Of course in July Brisco is coming to DVD finally . There are a couple of other threads about Brisco already here, you should check them out too.

Good to know about the DVD. Fox has a real problem when it comes to giving SciFi/Westerns a fair chance, as I'm sure everyone here knows.

Looks like I've wandered in a bit late.

I watched all the episodes of Brisco on Fox and still have 'em on tape.

I miss that some and am mighty glad its comin' out on DVD...with commentaries by Bruce, to boot! Yea!

So who was your favorite character?

I'll admit now, my was...Comet.

I think I'm gonna need to haul out the Brisco M&M game my friends and i came up with way back when. (If we'd made it a drinking game, I'd have passed out by the second commercial break.)

Wow, this really takes me back. I used to watch this all the time when I was little. Had a huge crush on Bruce Campbell, too.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Loved the show,(despite my girlfriend at the time also having a huge crush on Bruce Campbell). Oh how I love to hate the coolest man on the planet. Maybe the next one will crush on Nathan Fillion.

I'm feeling old there, too, Chrisisall. I was 30ish then, too. Hey, I just remembered, my nephew was born when it was on! I remember sitting in the waiting room watching Brisco (as I was the only one there, I commandeered the TV) waiting for his arrival. Didn't happen that day, though.

And you forgot Socrates Poole, Whip Morgan, and Pete with his piece.

I did like the Prof. John Astin is always fun to watch.

...and you're still breathin'? Wow, you must be fast. But you shouldn't be so quick to claim to be Brisco's number one fan, because I am. The fact that I grew up on it, means that it has always been part of the way I think, so chances are I'm a bigger fan.

The comparisons between the two are so obvious (at least to me) that I had to de-lurk. I'm all smiley.

HUGE fan of Brisco, I remember there was a period of time when my Saturday mornings were devoted to Brisco and MST3K. *sigh...*

And of course the Bruce Campbell crush. No wonder I have a little *thing* for Mr. Fillion.... The dashing yet goofy protagonist. Now I want an 18 inch Mal Reynolds to hang out with my 18 inch talking Ash action figure.

Someone should write a SciFi/Western/Buddy Movie for Nathan Fillion and Bruce Campbell.
