X-Men 3. It started out Ok, then....plot holes, bad acting by all(I call it the Catwoman syndrome. When the movie is bad it makes the actors look bad). All the bad mutants look like Hot Topic rejects, did I mention plot holes? Enough on this garbage.

Catwoman.

The incredible Hulk. Why was Nick Nolte in this movie? It didn't need a bad guy. Hulk had plenty to battle with the military.

Helen Slater's - SuperGirl was not a good movie, but as far as I'm concerned Helen Slater herself made a great SuperGirl. It was the movie that she was in that sucked. They had the right costume, they found the right girl, and they injected all of this into a terrible plot.

If they had treated the Supergirl movie using a serious story, the movie would have been terrific.

X-3 was crap. But you can't blame the actors. The Director killed off major characters as plot devices. Crap. The momentum was way off. If they make another, and they will, get either Brian Singer, who did the first two, or Joss.

Captain America.

Matt Salinger looked mighty uneasy in them duds, and the whole film felt like there was no enthusiasm for it.

Sky Captain.

Mumble mumble look at frame counter on camera as if it's going to be some kind of big deal later on,mumble mumble mumble look at frame counter mumble mumble.

Didn't have the patience to see all of it. Was it a big deal?

Mystery Men. Great cast entirely wasted.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Biggles. Captain W E Johns would never have stood for this male knitwear model and time travel nonsense.

The Jar-Jar Binks Show

Robocop 2+

Starship Troopers 2

Highlander 2+

Matrix 2+

When will they learn to get a good idea, make a cracking one-off, and then leave it in solitary splendour?

Solo. The book's good (Robert Mason again). Film was so dull.

The Da Vinci Code. (Before you jump on my arse, I call anyone who can parachute holding the corners of a tea-towel a superhero - Or at least someone with a very strong grip).

The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Just when you think you can't get lower than appearing with Dudley "inexplicable what he's doing in Hollywood" Moore.

Chronicles of Riddick. As bad as PB was good.

Sacrilege Corner. Solaris. But then I think Tarkovsky uses way too many thousands of feet of film, nowhere enough editors, and forgets to tell the actors to move a limb now and then. And enough with the horse already.

Battlefield Earth. Speechless.

Plan 9 from Outer Space. That's just criminal.

The Unbelievable. A Richard Hatch one notable for the officially most pathetic CGI monster ever to be created for the screen. So terrible. Honestly, it's the sort of thing I'd produce. Small moment of redemption because Tim Thomerson really can do no wrong.

Jessica Lange's King Kong. I sense a wandering off topic here...

The Hulk wasn't stellar.

My husband's ringing in with Batman and Robin and I will more than second Daredevil. I only watched 20 minutes before I had to turn it off. The costume alone was painful no superhero should have a costume that allows him to take off the mask and go into a leather bar and fit right in!

In all fairness, the director didn't have much to do with that. The script cast and all was locked in when he was hired at the last minute.

Blame the writers on that count.

Haven't seen that many superhero movies, but Daredevil was by far the worst one I've seen. A retarded platypus that's high on crack and has a typewriter close by could have come up with a better script (and that platypus would have been a better actor than Ben Affleck, too).

Dayve,
"Dolph Lundgren as THE PUNISHER."

YES! YES! YES! What an 'orrible piece of crap. Visions of Lundgren off in the corner punishing himself.

Saw a movie on TV recently (Roses, something) about a herd of black girls (the herd were superheroes) who were outlaws in the Old West. Complete with words such as "cool." And Rasta locks. And many who obviously could NOT sit a horse. Egad, what garbage. No ending. Vague. Complete with a token white guy who was the evil one.

My turn to weigh in...

To the Browncoat that listed 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'. I strongly disagree.

To the BC that listed 'Buffy the Movie'. Yeah it was bad but that was kind of what made it funny!

To all the BC's that listed Daredevil... got room for another on your side of the thread? Shockingly bad, truly terrible. A round of applause to whoever mention the platypus! That would have been much more entertaining that Ben Affleck. (Wow I hate him!)

And I think at this point we all know where I stand on the X-3 issue (see the old thread for bashing aplenty!)

I must say though, Chrisisall, y'know I have the utmost repect for you fella, but Daredevil for me was about the most crudely put together piece of work I've seen in a long time... and I don't even hate Ben Afleck.

Personally I think the Superhero to cinema notion died a long time ago, with the 3rd Batman, whichever the one with Val Kilmer was?

Never a fan of any of the X-men films either. Wolverine prances around with teen angst, and just never moves on!

Presently we seem to be enduring a glut of CGI effected superhero films that have little to do with the characters they are based upon....So maybe I'll be able to contribute more later.

*grins, cackles and rubs hands* Flame-ON indeed.

No, see - I was forcibly dragged to the movie with no expectations. And it disappointed even those. Bad writing just slays me. BUT! To really throw gas on the fire:

I got to meet Jessica Alba when she was filming a movie at the college I attended . . .

. . .SHE'S NOT AS PRETTY IN PERSON! IT'S ALL AIR-BRUSHING AND FILM TOUCHING! BWAH-HAHAHAH!

No, I'm totally kidding. She was lovely and my male friends were drooling. Very gracious to the crowd, too. Came off as a very nice person and not a Hollywood nightmare.

I preferred Keaton, thought he was good. Hated Kilmer and Clooney (nothing against the actors, but they're not Batman), Bale was pretty decent. Although Bale was probably truer to the original character in terms of the way he portrayed Bruce Wayne; Keaton did a sort of Clarke Kent version of Bruce Wayne.

Ok so honest to say I've not watched all too many Super Hero movies, But I rather liked Daredevil. Hated Hulk - it was all manner of lame. & Elektra was lacking in story, but then who watches Garner as Elektra for her fine acting & storyline. She's a hottie who's kicking tail...in Red.

I would also have to say major negations to the 2nd & 3rd Matrix movies, and I never saw Underworld II, but I loved the first. I just heard that the second was oversexed & overbloody.

I'm curious to see Ghost Rider.

and of course I have to say the only Batman movies that were likeable were the Batman & Batman Begins. The rest were pretty much throwaway. Though props to Jim Carey. Oh yeah & the "original" Batman movie "the shark is pulling our leg old chum.."

just thinking here.....yikes..... but everybody has differing tastes in things, for instance movies....
To me, the movie industry has pretty much bottomed out.... i can't really think of a memorable movie i've seen in a while... the whole crash and flash cgi was cool for about 1/2 hour - but with those you usually get no plot - or if the movie is too cerebral it winds up being too boring to sit through -

Now me - i can stand to watch bad movies - someone said Plan 9 from Outer Space - that was just so bad it was classic - i enjoyed Forbidden Planet for the same reason - so, i've cut way back on the movie theater entertainment - i've recently taken to foreign films (yes, with subtitles) just for a change of pace - Turner classics usually has the old stuff that just never dies (even colorized), and they're not making actors like Jimmy Stewart anymore....

so, whether we love em or hate em - we still watch em - and like i've heard said - "one man's trash is another man's treasure"

oh, and Dick Tracy really sucked, too

Haze- Ok I must disagree I think V is the most wonderful film! I will admit I've not read the comics but the acting is unbelievable. I've never seen anyone masked do such a job of being emotive that by halfway through the film you forget it's a mask and see it as his face. Seiously fabulous film ( though again I am not sure how representative it is of the comic)
