Not exactly a scifi show, but definite ties to Firefly:

Does anyone know if Tim Minear's The Inside is ever coming out on DVD?

How could Fox screw this up so badly that some of the episodes didn't air (oh, yeah, standard operating procedure at Fox)?

Gossi, who seems to know about these things, had said over on the Serenity board, that it wasn't coming out, thanks to Fox. But recently I heard it might be. Can't remember where - probably over on Whedonesque. Sorry for the vagueness, it was a while ago.

I still have yet to see this show, it's coming on Irish TV in August I think, so looking forward to that..

For anyone who wants the shooting scripts, go to www.timminear.net. But beware spoilers of course!!

It's enough.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I loved The Inside. Ok, I really liked it. It wasn't on long enough to really get into it. Of course Fox killed it because it wasn't the normal mindless drivel they air.

I would love to see it come out on DVD. I would buy it in a minute.

I just finished reading all the scripts on Tim Minear's site. The writing is fantastic, I would love to see the episodes!

People really need to get over this "fox cancels everything that isn't mindless" garbage. While they screwed up on Firefly, they gave the Inside every reasonable chance, and it just hemoraged viewers. I don't think most of the people here would have watched the show if it didn't have Tim, Katie, and Adam's names on it. It was a little different, but it was still a procedural show, which is being done to death these days (pardon the pun). If it keeps losing viewers, how long should they keep it on the air? They gave the Inside as fair of a chance as any other in recent memory (including solid promos during American Idol and 24, their 2 biggest shows), and it didn't get an audience. "Period. P-E-R-I-....D" (A funny quote I heard Shaquille O'Neal make once)

Couldn't agree with Patsrule any more. I sat down and watched The Inside when it first came out, but it just didn't strike me at all. I'm not a big fan of procedurals as it is, and nothing about the show particularly hooked me. The show was focused almost entirely on the lead, with the other characters around seemingly for window dressing. There was one very good episode (The Prefiler) that stuck in my mind, but otherwise this seemed a rather ordinary show, and I'm not missing the lack of a DVD release. Here's hoping for good things from "Drive" however.

Have you seen the list of shows that Fox has cancelled? Have you seen all the shows that got great reviews and write ups and still got bounced around, mishandled, and then axed?

Need the list?

I have seen the list, and the vast majority of them were canceled despite good efforts by Fox to show the programs, and good promotional efforts, but the ratings were not good enough to keep around.

Yes they screwed up Firefly badly. I was aware of Wonderfalls, but had no interest in watching...blame me over Fox for that. Same thing with Family Guy when it was first on. Yes I like them both now, but I wan't going to watch them then.

In any event, this thread is about The Inside, and I am tired of seeing people blaming Fox for canceling the Inside, that this is another example of Fox not wanting shows that aren't mindless to succeed, or not giving enough support. They did everything they could, and viewers didn't take to it.
