Why did it take Superman SO long to fly to Paris?
Why did the terrorist's bomb have any effect at all on Superman when it exploded if it was so far from him?
Why must Clark's hand have to be burned in the fire; I've accidentally put my hand into campfires before, and a quick pull out revealed no burns- and I'm from Earth!
What are the white beams that come out of the villain's fingertips, ectoplasm?
Why did Ursa say "He's caged Non!"? Can a few bent girders hold a Kryptonian for long??
Why did Superman throw a big "S" at Non, if it had no real effect?
What WAS that big "S"?
If Superman and the three villains can disappear, why not do it at more opportune moments during the various fights??
How does Superman's spit wipe out memory from 3 days ago to present, and why not more or less?
Why did Superman appologize to the President for his absence? He let mankind down there, not just one man...or did he go around appologizing to every world leader, the Governor of East Houston, etc.??

Thank GOD for the Donner Cut of Superman II!!!!

Ah I believe that would be: 'LE aftershock' non?

Coz he'd used dat hand an awful lot dat day!

That's a concentration of albino dustmites - or icing sugar, I beleive they were trying to be friendly by icing everybodies cakes, but given there was no translator machine at the time, nobody understood so they went all out to nuke the suckers!

He didn't eat his weetabix before putting on his suit.

Soups big on image. This really dented his brand. It took weeks for his PR company recover from such a devastating moment.

What WAS that big "S"?
I was thinking the same thing too....

Yeah but see, then when he goes to fancy dress parties and there's a whole lotta 'Soups' hanging near da punch bowl, and the inevitable question of who is the 'real' superman comes up, he (our Soup) can then pull out the ol' disappearing drink out da bag and find himself by the coat pile. Et Viola!

That would be before decimilization I guess....

Oh Chrisisall you should know your Soupy backlog. Soup had promised to be a clown at the Prezzies daughter's birthday party, remember? Because Soup had gone and bashed the real clown for riding an exploding car, and Soup realising the potential danger, had flung, said baggy trousered one into proverbial orbit round the moons of tit..an. I mean Titan. So he had much kissing of the derrier to be done as regards the prez. See. It's all there man read between the lines.

The fact that these questions need to be asked if perfect proof of why the Donner cut was needed and is the superior version.

Don't know the answer to many of the questions but I'd say the last question applies to what us Non-Americans (another Brit here) on ocassion/occasion?? refer to as 'American Elitism' in the movie world.

For example: (no offence to US civilians intended ;-)

America won WWII, on it's own with no help from anyone.
America captured the Enigma decoding machine.
America invented 'the good life'.
Only Americans can have 'the perfect summer'. (If it's of the Glau variety I have to agree).
The American president runs the planet.
The American president saves the planet on a weekly basis.
The 'American Way' is the only way.
Superman was born in Smallville, Kansas, USA and lied about coming from Krypton. Krypton sounds better.

So that is why Supes puts the American flag back on the White House and he apologizes to the US president because no other leaders matter.

For the amount of good that he'd done Superman should NEVER have apologized to anyone, he owes them nothing.

Let's not forget that the comic is printed in America and all SUPERheroes are made in the U.S.A.

No one who has at least an 8th grade education in America believes that America won WWII by ourselves.

We are taught in school, and I think it's been well represented in the movies that we were allies with many countries; England & Russia being the 2 most significant.

I personally give England all the creditand admiration for standing up to the Nazis before anyone else had the guts to...I give England credit for their bravery during the Nazi blitzkrieg over London...the V1 buzzbombs, etc...I give England credit with defeating Rommel in the N. Africa desert campaign. Also England had troops in Burma, Thailand, China, Phillippines, and fought the savage Japanese pretty much all by themselves until America joined the fight years later.

I think your BBC and tabloids take pleasure in skewing America in the manner your described earlier...we are not that way.

I wish we could have had a different ending, it's my one problem with the film. I can overlook it though coz of all the other improvements. I usually watch it but my concentration tends to go elsewhere.

I almost put 'ruins' in but as it was a tongue-in-cheek comment to start with I preferred 'runs'.

Shinyed

I was referring to certain movies and not the real world. I know Americans don't really think like that (hence the 'no offence' comment). I genuinely don't think the allies would have won without US help.
The movies I had in mind were Independance Day and U-571. Bill Pullman's character pretty much ran the show for the WHOLE world, and in U-571 history was rewrote for the sake of a story.
I agree most movies do a good job of portraying the alliances between the countries, but the list wasn't intended to be taken seriously.

Yeah, the tabloids do skew things a certain way and the BBC is Fox's (is that a swear word? ) twin brother where both twins are evil.
I just have to mention licence fees (in other words 'another mandatory tax').
