I vaguely remember seeing the first episode or two of this series when it aired on Showtime in 1999, and was kind of impressed.

I just found the DVD of the pilot in the Under $5 bin, and I'm even more impressed, especially the set design & cinematography!

The women are stunning, and the character of Farve (wonderfully acted by Karl Pruner) reminds me a bit of the Mountie in dueSOUTH.

Pound for pound, I think it's one of the best Philip K. Dick adaptations!

Anybody else watch it?

Did this show have anything to do with the movie Total Recall?

Ostensibly, yes. But it was more like Blade Runner to most people.

From Wikipedia...

Total Recall 2070 was loosely based on two works by the author Philip K. Dick: his short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, which was later adapted into the film Total Recall, and his novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which was adapted into the film Blade Runner.

You can watch it on Hulu, but they edited out all the nudity.

(I hate that we can't post Hulu links here.)

Hey C, is the 'movie' self-contained? Or does it make you need the series?

Oh, oh, right, sorry! Lost my head there for a sec...

That "Machine Dreams" DVD is the 2-hour pilot, so yeah, the series takes off from there.
