What happened? He see your face?

Much to my surprise, I ran across Krull last night on Showtime. I was immediately sent into a time warp. The special effects were atrocious compared to today's standards but enjoyable if for nothing more than nostalgia. IMHO, it doesn't make my top ten or anything, but I was wondering....

Would anyone be interested in seeing this story re-made? May be with a twist or the same?

or....

Make it a cartoon and be done with it.

Is it already a classic and leave it alone.

Burn the original and never speak of it again.

Your still mad cause you wanted to live in the Black Fortress.

Save poor Cyclops from being crushed.

It would be good if it were less "Power Rangery".

I still want "The Glave".

That cyclops always freaked me out so I was happy to see him go. Also, I always found the noise slayers made as they died to be quite disturbing. The Beast was a great baddie and The Glaive is still one of the coolest weapons I have ever seen. My big gripe with the movie is the whole cheeseball "our unity can conquer all evil" resolution. I realize it was set up at the beginning of the movie but it has never sat well with me. In short, this is one of the few movies I wouldn't mind seeing get the remake treatment...minus the cliched ending of course.

Hey Sin, did you notice that he put the Cyclops bit in a spoiler warning? People usually do this for a reason, like, I don't know, maybe not ruining a plot point for someone that didn't see the movie? Good show old man, well done indeed.

With the movie being, what 20 years old?, I'm not all that concerned with spoiling it. Go find something else to bitch about.

I remember seeing Krull way back when and thought it was pretty good. I haven't ever seen it since. I remember is was sort of a hybrid between Excalibur & Star Wars....wasn't Liam Neeson in it? And the girl...Lysette Anthony was a looker too. It would have good potential if re-made.

I saw this and seem to remember enjoying it, although I was about 13 or 14 at the time and probably easily impressed.

Just been checking it on IMDB, interesting to see Bernard Bresslaw in the cast list (big dopey guy in countless British comedy films, Carry On etc.) and Todd Carty between his Grange Hill Tucker Jenkins and Eastenders Mark Fowler days.

One of my pleasure movies. Yes the effects are cheesy (even then) but it had a plot (which was amazing for fantasy movies) and a handsome lead, and the Glave. Ever notice in the scenes where he throws it and it comes back the films run backwards? Only way they could show him catching a sharp pointy dangerous toy... I mean weapon and not hurt the actor.

I always hate to see the Cyclops death. After all he did he still dies.

And even though I've seen it countless times I still expect those men to say at one point, to hell with this, freedoms not worth this much, and chuck the lot of them. Just shows how charasmatic the King Apparant was to convince these guys to follow him and his silly dangerous quest.

Hey, did you know the guy who played the leader of the rebel thieves later on went on to play the Inn Keeper in the British stage version of Les Miserable? I'm a font of useless information.

And there was the guy who played Cracker. Wish I could remember his name.

There is one thing about that movie that makes it less enjoyable. That whiney little fusspot wannabe wizard (who's name I fortunately do not remember) I know he was the comic relief, but he was just so annoying.

And hey, the whole scene with the Black Widow, with him trying to get out before he loses all the sand in his hand. I'm always on the edge of my seat.
