Reaper, CW network 9pm Tuesday
Comedy/Drama

Premise: Sam's parents never asked much of him, allowing him to become the best slacker he could be. It turns out, they didn't expect any future for him because they had already sold his soul to the devil, who wants Sam as his new bounty hunter.

Stars: Bret Harrison ("Grounded for Life," "The Loop"), Ray Wise ("24"), Tyler Labine ("Boston Legal"), Rick Gonzalez ("Coach Carter"), Valarie Rae Miller ("Dark Angel"), Nikki Reed ("The O.C."), Allison Hossack ("Falcon Beach"), Andrew Airlie ("The L Word"), Kyle Switzer ("15/Love")

Studio: ABC Studios

Producers: Michelle Fazekas ("Ed"), Tara Butters ("Ed"), Mark Gordon ("Grey's Anatomy"), Deb Spera ("Criminal Minds"), Tom Spezialy ("Desperate Housewives") and Kevin Smith ("Clerks," "Dogma")

-------------------------------------------------

Don't let the title fool you, CW's Aliens in America is about a Pakistani foreign exchange student, not green guys from Mars!

-------------------------------------------------

New Amsterdam (Tuesdays 8pm fall, Fridays 9pm January, FOX)
Drama

Premise: John Amsterdam in the 17th century and served as a Dutch solider in the colony of New Amsterdam. That makes it really strange that in 2007, he's still working as a New York City homicide detective. Funny what a little immortality will do.

Stars: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ("Kingdom of Heaven"), Alexie Gilmore ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), Stephen McKinley Henderson ("Law & Order"), Zuleikha Robinson ("Rome")

Studio: Regency TV

Producers: Allan Loeb ("Things We Lost in the Fire"), David Manson ("Saved"), Christian Taylor ("Six Feet Under"), Leslie Holleran, Steven Pearl, Lasse Hallstrom

(Apparently this is the second of two Angel copies this season, although apparently this cop isn't a vampire)

--------------------------------------------------
(This one has already been discussed, but...)

The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Sundays 9pm January, FOX)
Midseason Drama

Premise: Filling in the gaps between the second and third "Terminator" films, Sarah Connor and her son John, humanity's future savior, must fight to stay alive in a dangerous world full of threats both from the present and the future.

Stars: Lena Headey ("300"), Thomas Dekker ("Heroes"), Summer Glau ("Firefly") , Richard T. Jones ("Judging Amy")

Studio: Warner Bros. TV

Producers: Josh Friedman ("War of the Worlds"), David Nutter ("Supernatural"), Mario Kassar, Andrew Vajna, Joel Michaels, James Middleton

As I said in another forum: Reaper needs to cross over with Supernatural.

No need for that as we've already seen a reaper twice on the existing show.

On another note how did you like that finale?

LWAVES

NO SUPERNATURAL SPOILERS PLEASE!!!
I'm not there yet and I don't want to accidently read about it.
Thankyou kindly.

On Topic:
Well between these shows and the CBS one, the only one I want to work is The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Who needs a Bionic Woman remake. The original was a rip-off of the Bionic Man.

Reaper: A guy working for the devil collecting souls/bodies. Isn't there or wasn't there a show called The Collector that does that??

New Amsterdam and Moonlight. (read with heavy sarcasm) Well they've never been done before.

Chuck: Jake 2.0 rip-off from what I gather. The only good thing about Jake was Grace Park. But part of me wants Chuck to work because it stars Adam Baldwin. I just don't think it will. It'll need to be really good for me to watch it though when (if) it arrives in the UK.

Wow. I just re-read all that. Am I being too hard?

REGINAROADIE

Actually, REAPER is one I'm really excited for. And yes, there was a show on about ten years ago called BRIMSTONE that had a similar concept, but this one is more comedic. Kevin Smith said that he wanted it to be in vein of SHAUN OF THE DEAD. So here's hoping it pans out. In one of his SModcasts, Kevin talks about the process of making the pilot and how the TV industry is pretty much insane. He made this comment that after his work on REAPER, that he has respect for ANYTHING that's on TV. That the next time someone looks at something and goes "God that's a piece of crap", keep in mind the endless hurdles that that show went through to get on the air.

That NEW AMSTERDAM show sounds kind of cool, though.

"No."

So, CW and Fox, that's what--8 episodes each?

Okay you now have me interested in Reaper. I never realised Kevin Smith was involved (love the stuff that guy works on).
And Shaun Of The Dead is fantastic. Maybe as more of a comedy it can find an audience, where a serious version may not.

Yeah I remember Brimstone. That was cancelled too, wasn't it?
Was it on Fox???

Looked up The Collector (which is on one of the Zone Horror channel on Sky in the UK) and the premise is very similiar as well.
