oh my, I just finished watching season one of the wonderful Battlestar Galactica.
oh my.
It is imperative that I get season two on dvd, or I may die of shock and suspense.

I was so not expecting Boomer to shoot Adama, I almost jumped a foot in the air!
ditto with Gaius and Number Six at the end!
Though, I don't think that Roslin should have been arrested, just for making a bad decision, especially when the mission was completed anyway. Fair enough for the sexy Apollo, he did commit mutiny and all, but Roslin in the brig? I'm probably wrong, but isnt that a wee bit military dictatoring on Adama's part?
oh, and go Starbuck!

I kissed a frog once, and it turned into an investment banker.
It was horrific.

Yes, one of the best shows on television.

Same point I am with BSG. Will get season 2 if/when I finally throw off the shackles of my shitty minimum wage job and get back into some proper sort of career with reasonable pay.

Yes Boomer shooting Adama was a shocker! It was so awesome!
As far as the arrests. She was basically part of a mutany on his ship. She has power over the Colonies but not over the Military and her interference went too far.

I might be a little off on the details cuz I have been watching since season 1 aired and do not own the DVDs yet.

Without an actual council at this point there was no way to impeach her so Adama did what he had to and decided that she needed to be removed from office. He is the Commander of the Fleet and does have some Authority in that aspect. He thought he knew what was better for the people.

Mutany is punishable by death so in all reality she should have been executed on the spot. It was his ship and it is his fleet. She is just in charge of the people.

Good show!

Don't bother getting Season 2 because the series becomes very disappointing. If you don't believe me just check out sites like youtube and veoh (a lot of episodes have been uploaded now)

Don't waste your money on this series !!

Unilke those weird die-hard TOS fans I agree that the first season and the movie were very good and it looked like it was tipped to become a great series.

The series quickly ran out of steam and became a dull, melrose space soap. The writers panicked and started switching to romance/relationship dribble to make up for the stagnate Cylon plan.

These days it's just so badly written, imo, that the majority of fans can no longer stand to watch it.

I'm not quite done with season 2, but based on that I must disagree. It is still a great show.

The road to Hel is paved with good intentions

Gotta disagree Jayneztown!

BSG has gone from strength to strength, sure there are a few average episodes (but which series doesn't have them?), even then, the worst episodes are still good and usually have a gret denouement.
Season 3 I have to admit has had more "average" ones, but again, they are outnumbered by the number of great episodes. The first four episodes in particular are fantastic with amazing CGI for a tv series

Just got the last few episodes to watch of season 3 now (I'm running a little behind)

I don't want to spoil things for you but I will say that overall Season 3 is a big disappointment, there are a few good bit like the Atmo jump on New Caprica but most of the season was lame.

Do you guys actually enjoy episodes like BlackMarket, Hero, Rocky-in-Space, Collaborators, Rosiln's magical cure during Epiphanies ??
They were some of the lowest rated bsg episodes on sites like imdb tvdotcom. Scifi as a Channel has done poorly. They have made way to many blunders over the last 5 or 6 years. One mediocre show doesnt make up for it imo. I miss the old days of scifi.

There is also the fact that the second season was much weaker than the first and didn't really advance the storyline at all.
