Remember 3 weeks ago when the show was cancelled?

[Lee Corso]"Not so fast, my friends!"[/Lee Corso]

Twenty-one days, forty-thousand pounds of nuts, and God-knows-how-many letters, e-mails, and phone calls later:

--------------------

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler
President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts

America loves a winner!

Nuts ? All we had to do is send FOX some nuts and Firefly would have stayed on the air ?

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Actually it was somewhere around 14 tons of nuts.

I was involved with the Nuts! to CBS campaign as well as the email/snail mail/phone call campaign to save the show. It has paid off, but our work is not done yet.

As Nina's email shows, the Rangers (Jericho fans) have our work cut out for us. We are now gearing our efforts towards spreading the word and bringin in new fans to guarantee we get the ratings we need to keep the show when the seven episodes air next year. Looks like CBS is willing to do their part. If they live up to their end of the bargain we may just have made history.

Congrats to the Jericho fans!

It's always good to see fans being successful in campaigns to get a show back on the air.

Plus, I love me some Jericho :)

Not sure if anyone here has checked it out, but it is definitely worth a look. You can check out the episodes online here:

Cool, I never got into the show, by the time I heard about it, it was cancelled. Now I get to catch up, already have my machine set up to record starting Friday, and if it looks good, I'll be buying DVD's.

Thanks for the heads up.

Just wanted to remind those that are interested that "Jericho" returns to CBS television Friday, Jult 6th at 9pm. CBS will be reairing all of season one throughout the summer. Check it out if you have not seen it. It is a good show with an interesting premise. I think many here will enjoy it.

The season one dvd goes on sale in September.

Check out the episodes and see why another fanbase fought so hard to save their show.

Jericho gets a lifeline.. and Firefly is left to rot, does that seem fair to you?

In earnest Jericho wasnt that good a show.

It was actually 20 tons of nuts. Go to nutsonline.com for the details.

Also, ever actor in the show posted a thank you note to the fans. They started thanking fans before the show was even renewed.

It was a smart, well organized campaign and nutsonline.com deserves a lot of credit. Jeff will be walking the red carpet with castmembers for the Emmys.

I agree with you - sort of. I liked the show and I enjoyed the story line. However I was just generally annoyed at all the rather blindinly obvious errors on the show.

You need windmills to power the town but no one knows how to rig one up? Your a gorram farming community. Almost every farm will have a simple pump/gearing system hooked up to their well. Or other equipment on the farm!!

You can't afford to heat the relatively small church basement area housing the refugees so yoru solution is to split them up into multiple, larger, harder to heat homes?

Bah!

Having said that I will be glad to see a wrap up to the storylines.

Don't get me wrong, if I had a choice, I would take a renewal of Firefly over Jericho any day, but I would rather have Jericho back than neither show.

Just sayin'.

Yep, lots of nuts. I contributed to Nutsonline for the campaign (I post as VABrowncoat over there).

I thought it was cool that the cast came onto the boards to thank us when the show got the axe, and their posts during the campaign and afterwards made all the effort worth it.

Jeff and his dad over at Nutsonline were awesome during the campaign. Heck all of the Nutsonline crew were troopers during the onslaught. Jeff even started watching the show online.

Yep, there were some holes in some of the smaller plots, but what show doesn't?
