ChrisIsAll!!

Personally, I LOVE Rescue Me. It's hilarious, nerve-wracking, a searing social commentary and an ode to Dennis Leary all in one.

It's kind of like a men's soap opera, but we don't want men to hear that so shhhh.

Mal-licious

I'm going to add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

It's a great show. It's the only show that I can recall about screwed up, middle-aged guys. And if you are guy, you either ARE one, WERE one, or are going TO BE one.

The show is dramatic but also LOL funny. And there are some character situations that are real water cooler material.

I would expect nothing less from Dennis...Remember his 'freedom' rant from Demolition Man?
I'm buying the first season of RM ASAP!

Hmmmm. I seem to recall LOTS of parties you've been late to

1) Firefly
2) Buffy
3) Have you even watched Angel yet? Weren't you dead set against even trying to watch it? Or was that some other late-to-the-party-er?

I own season 1, seen 2 and 5- still pondering whether to see 3 and 4.
I'm so late for Angel's party, I'm afraid the keg will be empty
(It's Cordy's hair, it gets scarier than Book's!)

I watching this week's episode when I had a revelation. If Mal and Tommy were in the same room the universe might implode due to an excessive amount of cynicism in a confined space.

Very good, very edgy, and pretty unique. The only real downside to me is that some of the episodes have a slow time getting rolling, so my girlfriend and I prefer to watch 2-3 episodes as a chunk rather than weekly. Since we watched the first few seasons on DVD, it was easy, but now we're accumulating on DVR...

I'd say it's better than 97% of what you're going to get on network television, but not quite as good as THE SHIELD, which, for my money, is probably the second best hour-long TV program ever. (Do I even need to say what I rate as tops?).

While a lot of the show focuses on personal lives, the stuff at the station house will probably appeal to many FIREFLY fans. You've got this group of guys who clearly care about one another, but they also often annoy the heck out of each other, so there's a lot of griping, good-natured ribbing, etc. Sound familiar?
