TRAVELER

Developed on the planet Caffeine, Hyper Drive has been the mainstay of most space travel due to the low cost of the cola nut. When chocolate is added to the fuel mixture the trip takes just as long, but everyone seems to enjoy the ride more.

There have been some disasters. Some people have left the brew on the burner to long and ended up with serious results. This will either send you into a contiuous loop or cause your ship to smell really bad.

Even though the Warp Drive is superior to the Hyper Drive, most people prefer the later for its rich aroma.

To quote ace spacepilot Jimmy McFly, "If you want to buzz the Milkyway you gotta go Hyper".

We at Wipe It Pedia hope that answers your question.

Seeing as most of you are on the other side of the big salty puddle, I'll explain that Hyperdrive is a lame sci-fi sitcom on BBC2 in the UK... they've just started a second series. It just so much desperately wants to be another Red Dwarf.

...almost as much as it wants to be "The Office" in space...

Needless to say, it fails.

WHOOPS

hasnt it got Nick Frost in it? I watched a couple of episodes but couldnt get into it. Nick Frost is a very funny guy but the programme just sucks.

I found it at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/hyperdrive/episodes/s2/hyperdrive_s2ep2_ep

OMG, it is bad. It's amazing to me the programs that get a second season, and the wonderful one that we love got cut off at one. Of course the reasoning might be that Hyperdrive is extremely cheap to make.

So we may never see Hyperdrive on this side of the pond. Being a comedy they won't spend much on special effects. Actually the cheaper effects ought to make it funnier. I guess this is not the case.

I remember the early years, well almost all the years of Dr Who and how I laughed at some of their special effects. Must have smashed their kids piggy bank to pay for some of those monsters they would come up with. Much the same thing with Red Dwarf. Both excellent shows.

Indeed. Hyperdrive is a waste of electricity.

You'd think there would be a quality control reality check at some point.

Writing stage... Why am I bothering?

Read through... Er, this isn't funny. Or in possession of a point.

Filming... OK, guys, forget the script, just give me comedy. Action!

(Now "Danger: 50,000 Volts" That really was dead funny.)

KILLERBANANA

Dispite Nick Frost being in it, I have to agree, oh god its horrible, the acting the production the writing its all just terrible, most of the cast are god awful and in some cases just downright ugly and uninteresting. I'll admit its the kinda show I'd watch if it was on and I couldn't find anything else on (as is the case on a thursday night in between all the actually very funny shows when theres a half hour gap of news, boredom and hyperdrive) to take my interest, but it is just plain awful. I was shocked to see it even got a second season (though to be fair, the UK is lazy with seasons and they stretch to a grand 6 episodes, so that is about half a season in american standards).
