America loves a winner!

Sorta done in the manner of 'Out of Gas', where the action flips from present to past. Didn't care for it nearly as much, as they felt the need to put captions for each time period they were in , eg: 'Present'. The link from past to present wasn't as clear to me as was done in 'OoG'. I think that by doing the captions bit , the writers don't credit the viewers with enough intelligence to follow along. Otherwise, it was a neatly done show, with everyone in Atlantis getting amnesia except for Ronin and Tayla.

Oh, and just as an aside. The title of the episode is Tabula Rasa, which Buffy fans will remember is the same title from Ep 8, season 6. Naturally, both deal with everyone losing their memory.

SICKDUDE

I liked this one a lot. In fact, I would say it was one of the best Atlantis episodes ever.

At first, when they showed the "8 hours earlier" thing, I groaned out loud. I am soooooooooo sick of shows that show you the climax of the show at the beginning to get you on the hook, and then show you the rest of the episode in the normal order. It's done to death nowadays! But when they started going back and forth between the "present" and the past, I realized this was different, and they were using it as a tool to tell two different narratives of the story. Like OoG, or better yet any episode of 'Lost'.

Coincidentally, there was also an episode of Lost called 'Tabula Rasa'.

Overall, I thought this one had a lot to offer. A compelling plot that held mysteries until the end, it used Teyla and Ronin well, something that truthfully rarely ever happens, it was dire, it was well thought out, and it was fairly original.

GORRAMGROUPIE

So we have 2 different episodes of different shows titled with Tablua Rasa, and a MMORPG coming out with the same name. Does this translate to something, or is it just a trend?
