Shit. Really. Gotta think about this. Are they gonna follow up on all the implications I'm seeing?

Gotta admit, I'm really amused by the whole Gaius-is-Jesus thing. Too bad he shaved his beard.

Yea, I thought that was the best part of the show. The rest just seemed like all the characters asking all the questions that the fans have been asking for the last year. I didn't blow my mind like so much BSG of the past, but it was still better than anything else on TV I'm sure.

I also thought that

Tigh shooting Adama in the eye (which was huge and literally made me jump off the couch) was incredibly lame when JUST KIDDING! Tigh was just having a J.D. the daydreaming doctor moment. Terrible.

oh I don't know, I like the shock value....
jumping off the couch (I did too) is always a good.

This episode really started off the final season with a bang, I'm very excited about every single bit of it!

New Firefly fans should check this out: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=15816

Glad to see they kept up the momentum from the end of last season.

When Starbuck showed up in the previous episode I knew that Viper looked too good to be true. That thing is immaculate. I still think the whole white light when she "died" has some relation to the Lords of Light from the original series. Every time the final five are depicted I get that same vibe.

The whole sequence when Anders faces off against the raider was so damn cool. I thought he was pulling a Jedi mind trick on it when it broke off pursuit of the other Viper but when they looked at each other the moment became even more surreal.

Baltar as the messiah is an interesting turn to be sure. Initially it appeared as though he would be up to his old tricks; playing on their beliefs to ensure his safety and get a little action on the side. Then he pulls a surprise move by coming back to the boy, begging God to take his life so that the child might live. He isn't scamming anyone at that moment, for the first time that I can remember he behaves in a completely selfless manner. We later find out how committed he is when there is a razor at his throat. Again, he has nothing to gain here but is willing to give up his life. If he really is being painted as Jesus then he will have to give up his life to save others. Which is funny because I always thought it would be a great twist if he ended up being the only human to survive at the conclusion of the series.

CYBERSNARK

If you're referring to the

Select to view spoiler:

Tigh shooting Adama

scene, then it had deeper meaning than you're crediting it with.

For one thing, it demonstrates that Tigh isn't shrugging off the whole Cylon thing as easily as he pretended to. He's putting on a bold face for the benefit of Anders, Tyrol, and Tori, but no-one knows that he himself is freaking out about the thought of losing control --which is gonna put stress on him. It's already affecting his job (with Adama calling him on it). The others have a support system, but Tigh might end up being the one that exposes them.

It might also lead to some interesting scenes between him and Sharon; he's now started wondering how much of the infiltrators' behaviour is deliberate deception and how much is subconscious. I don't think he ever really believed that Boomer hadn't walked in with deliberate, pre-meditated intent to kill Adama (and that she knew exactly what she'd done and was playing innocent to try to escape blame). Now he's starting to wonder.

(And yes, he knows that Athena is not Boomer, but I'm certain that Tigh paints them with the same brush. Even if the Old Man trusts her, she's still a Cylon.)

The vision, and the content of the vision, colour everything he thought he knew about Cylon behaviour.
