What makes you think I can't do both? I have a tv in my home office, right next to my computer.

Although, this might be the last time I get to watch it while it’s on. Next Monday I’ll have to record it, because I have a class that night.

It's so nice not having to work 2nd shift anymore...

I can watch my stories in real time. Although it was very nice being able to watch commercial free with my Tivo.

It looks like this season will be interesting, more so than usual. 2nd season didn't have the pizazz of the 1st in my opinion. This one is shaping up to be much better.

I too do not like "heros", Thanks for posting that FMF. Just because its sci-fi, doesn't mean we all are gonna like it.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I liked the first season even though it was a bit erratic, and the second season suffered because the writers' strike limited completion of several plot lines (some of which seem to have been totally forgotten now). I was not that impressed last night. Seemed the writers were throwing so many different things into the mix in hopes a few bits of it worked, and most of it didn't.

If the major players never really die (or if they do die they come back as another character or as a ghost) and any possible future is changeable, then what reason do we have to feel there is ever any real peril?

Coz I'm in England and it's on at a different time! Ha!

No seriously - I gave Heroes my best shot through the first season and start of the second - and frankly I'm done with it.

I wont argue against it, I think there is plenty there for people to enjoy, but for whatever reason, it's shine has worn off for me.

In the timeslot prior to heros I was irratated to observe that Sarah Connor was up against Big Bang Theory.

There's not enough geek TV on the main channels so why run them up against each other? So I'll be forced to DL illegally?

grr arg.

Next week is even worse, with Big Bang vs. Sarah Connor vs. Chuck.

SINGATE

They weren't kidding when they titled this chapter "Villains". There seem to be very few good guys left.

Select to view spoiler:

Mohinder is walking a dangerous path. At any moment I'm expecting him to transform into Jeff Goldblum.

Both versions of Peter are walking the razor's edge. Future keeps messing with time which is making him more and more desperate. While present is running with a band of killers. I'm a bit fuzzy about his situation. Is his body somehow phased into the other guy or is he just possessing him?

Once again Nathan is getting into bed with politicians who, by their very nature, are villains.

Mrs. Petrelli comes off as diabolical as ever. Maybe they were right back in season 1 about allowing NY to go boom. The future she and Hiro witnessed is far more grim than anything previously shown.

I knew Claire could survive one of Sylar's examinations. I wonder if her lack of pain is due to something he did or if her mind switched off as a defense mechanism.

If the previews are any indication things are going to get very dicey. I have a feeling the writers are going to blur the lines between right/wrong, good/evil for many of the characters this season. Things are looking good.

I went down that road initially and then I was like WAIT!!! As a huge comic fan growing up, I only hoped a show like this would come out back then. That type of stuff happens all the time in comics and even other Sci-Fi. Hell, Superman is still kickin' and ghostly Obie-Wan helped out Luke a bunch. Difference is, the heroes events come so close together being on TV. I am just gonna try and take my logical/analytical nature and throw it out the window. The kid, comic reader in me appreciates it. Still, I too am worried about the alternate timeline stuff as I am with SCC. I know it will not go away completely. However, I was encouraged by this:

Hiro saying he was never going back in time again…
...and the “lessons learned” type stuff Mrs. Petrelli was talking about with future Peter about timelines.

On a site like this with some hardcore Sci-Fi fans, I expected people shying away for many reasons. I am sure mainly for writing and character choices. But I am seeing differing reactions. None of these reasons below have to be why you didn’t like it, just what I have gathered from people’s reaction at the office, IMs, lunch convo., and another forum. So chime in with your thoughts and let’s start the H3 madness. (whether it be good or bad for ya)

One: It just became too popular. They dropped a bomb on some counter-culturers with that Hollywood style premiere last night.

Two: With a "superhero" show on primetime, you gotta expect some cheese. You know...

Select to view spoiler:

a box in Claire’s home labeled “Dad’s office” with all the “world ending” villain files in it.

...Embrace the cheese.

Three: …and prolly the biggest one. I have to admit they did throw almost too much in last night’s premiere. Seems the slow-developing, character- driven, storyline a lot of us have expressed we hold so dear (*ahem* FF), is turning into a story-driven, multi-timeline, shock-fest. Hey, it may be slowed down to switch gears. But comparing Heroes to other shows of late like SCC, BSG, SG”X”, Fringe, or any number of Sci-Fi/CW shows right now, I just don’t see them as being better.

Interesting to see how Joss “works” the Heroes thirsty audience with Dollhouse.

Yeah, I'm thinking the “Lizard” straight out of Spider man.

Now, I have to go re-watch the premiere on DVR to try and absorb it all and comment with the “Pros”.

Why does everyone assume watching T:TSCC and Heroes are mutually exclusive? T:TSCC is on at 8:00 and Heroes at 9:00. I watched both on Monday (and was very pleased doing so ;).

The third season has really hit the ground running, unlike the drag of last season. All the characters seem to be going in interesting directions. Am waiting patiently to find out what's going to happen with Micah; I'll be pissed if they wrote his character out (as they seem to have done with Molly).

I've seen a couple episodes of Heroes season 2 on hulu.com but they weren't that impressive to me. I don't get to watch much prime time television because I work nights.

Will have to tape one while watching the other. That is what networks do. They take their best and face off against each other. Such is life.
