I am sooooo jealous! Wow, what an incredible treat! I can't quite imagine how hysterical I would have been.

Anyone else counting down until this latest film comes out?

I have to say that the trailers look great. Actually, they look amazing. But I'm not going into the movie with any great expectations, because every time I do that I am always disappointed. I have a feeling about this one though, and the feeling is that I'm going to love it...I hope.

P.S. Leonard Nimoy will be in Orlando April 17 weekend at FX International. So will Jewel and Morena. So will Jonathon Frakes and many others. Should be a terrific show!

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

I'm really not that much of a trekkie, but I think I'm going to be seeing this one on the big screen. It definitely looks amazing.

Just lying smiling in the dark,
Shooting stars around your heart,
Dreams come bouncing in your head
pure and simple every time.
Now you're crying in your sleep;
I wish you'd never learnt to weep.
Don't sell the dreams you should be keeping
pure and simple every time.

As long as it's better than "V'ger" I think I will be content. Also, I was not particularly impressed by ST: Nemesis, so if it tops that, again I'm happy.

STTMP was brilliant. Not enough phasers for some is all.

Don't care for the original cut much, but Wise's Director's Cut is a very good (and possibly vanishing - the DVD is out of print, and the upcoming Blu Ray release is the theatrical).

"Someone must have shot you with a phaser set on 'stunning.'"

"I can't help it -- my eyes are trapped in the gravitational field of your breasts!!"

"Not only can I beam you aboard, I can beam you a woody."
(think about it)

"Forgive my Kirk-like boldness, but you wanna go back to my mom's place and watch 'Dr. Who'?"

"How 'bout I slip into something more comfortable... like these STAR TREK VOYAGER pajamas!"

"Your mouth says, 'Shields up!', but your eyes say, 'A hull breach is imminent.'"

"I sense something... a presence I've not felt since I saw you bend over the registration table."

edit: ok so the last one is Star Wars....

Haha that one is brilliant!
And yes, I'll definitely be seeing the new Trek. It's been getting quite a lot of good reviews from those that saw it at the Texas screening, saying it's "Better than Wrath of Khan" and that you don't have to be a complete Trekkie to enjoy it.

I can't wait.

Having seen this --hey, it's my job! -- I'm confident that y'all will find it worth the price of admission.

Knowing who Uhura's boyfriend is will undoubtedly add to the smilerization of your fandom.

Hmm..

They should have done this on April 1. For trekkies it would have gone down as the greatest April Fools ever.

At least one browncoat was in attendance. He posted his recap of the evening over on the austin browncoats site.

Note it does go into plot points about the movie so if you want to stay spoiler free then don't read past Nimoy showing up. http://scifi4me.com/scifi4me_startrek.htm
