America loves a winner!

I'm sorry. It's been said a hundred million times already, but I'll say it again.

LUCAS SUCKS FOR DESTROYING THE STAR WARS SAGA!!!

The prequels just keep getting worse with time, there's simply no sense in debating the matter.

I'm not gonna waste time counting all the ways the prequels suck, that's been done to death.

However, to show I'm a just and fair sci-fi fan, I'll confess one thing. I don't think The Clone Wars animated T.V. series sucks. To the contrary, that is VERY watchable. Not that it in any way redeems Lucas for his crimes against sci-fi, the corrupted memories held deep in so many Star Wars fans from their youth, and the movie going public in general. It'd be like Bernie Maddoff hading back a suitcase full of cash, as compensation for the truck loads of cash he stole in the first place.

It's a start, but a debt Lucas will NEVER be able to pay back in full.

CYBERSNARK

If you're enjoying the Clone Wars, you'll want to check out Karen Traviss' Republic Commando novels: Hard Contact, Triple Zero, True Colors, Order 66, and the upcoming Imperial Commando: 501st.

She pretty much ignores the Jedi and focuses on the real heroes; the Troopers.

Not only has she largely redeemed the prequels, she made me fall in love with a group that I had no patience for (I thought all Mando were Boba Fett wannabes --I admit I was wrong and am now a buyce-carrying Mando-lover myself. Oya, ner vode).

Order 66 is also more of an emotional gut-punch than RotS could ever have been. Think "The Body" on BTVS, coupled with what happened to Wash. Seriously, there were tears.

See, that's what gets me so agitated. Even after all this time. While I don't consider myself die hard SW fan, I still enjoyed growing up w/ the original movies. But after watching the prequels, and attempting to re-watch them, I can pick out , scene by scene or even line by line, ridiculous points which any Jr High student would be embarrassed for writing. It's like Lucas TRIED make these 3 movies as brain dead, as childish and Disney as possible. All he wanted to do is indoctrinate the kiddies, and he didn't give 1 damn about the legions of fans who helped build his empire. When I see these movies, I cringe at what's on the screen, and can only imagine what might have, what SHOULD have been.
