He and his connection w/the artifact in Level 5 were such a big part of the early series, but now ?

I've gone stupid or something, and can't recall what his status was, last time he was a part of the story.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The last episode he appeared in was "I Do Over" (Season 3, Episode 4), the one where Stark got disintegrated into the ether. If I'm not mistaken, his name was mentioned just once more, in the episode after than when Jack asked Allison how he was coping. Other than that, nada.

Allison had the perfect opportunity in last night's ep to mention him, when she was talking to Lexi about motherhood, but she didn't. Not sure why.

My conclusion is that the writers don't have any ideas about his character any more, and they haven't mentioned the artifact either, so his connection to it doesn't matter. Or else, like Malcolm David Kelly on Lost, he's gone through a rapid growth spurt and they're not sure if they should recast the part or just forget about him.

So, he's pulled a 'Chuck' Cunningham, and simply ceased to exist ? That's strange, that the writers would go that route.

Also, wasn't Kevin 'getting better' ? Meaning he could communicate w/ Allison in a more normal fashion. I seem to think he was, and then might have reverted to his previous autistic state. I'd research, but I'm lazy this weekend.

It is possible he's rooming with Chuck Cunningham and Kyle Oliver, and all are wondering if the family is ever going to miss them.

Oh, and another thing....

What happened to the laundry lady, who was Carter's other ( potential) love interest ?

Like Allison's son, she seems to have just been written out, and now there's this new chick, Tess.

What's up there ?

I think they are still dangling the idea of Carter and Allison getting together. So instead of Carter having a long term attachment he gets a summer fling each season.

Well, w/ out giving anything away, I see the likelihood of Allison and Carter ending up as once was presented become less and less. And while there's nothing against 'Tess', I'm less than thrilled w/ manner the writers simply just 'move on' to another character, w/ out offering any follow up story or explanation. Seems to be a theme w/ this show. It just sort of cheapens the whole series for me, as if they're just mailing in the effort, and not really putting much thought behind it all.

Then again, it could just be that I'm spoiled by certain writers and such. Call me pretentious, but ... well, 'nuff said.

You're (and the writers are as well) also forgetting that Carter spent a whole life-time married to Allsion. They were completely in love, and Carter is supposed to still remember it, even though he got sent back in time and no-one else remembers it. They spent years and years married, now he sees her all young and they are just friends. It should be killing him every day, but they just forgot about it. He should be as tormented every day seeing Allison as Henry was when a fake Kim came back.....I like the show, and I can suspend disbelief in the science fiction of it, but I HATE the inconsistencies and forgetting of major plot points.

Major holes everywhere! Still fun to watch, but, the Nathan Stark character was supposed to be back also. I figure that occasional viewers don't follow major plot lines, and, I guess, I may not either. I enjoy the show for the sense of fun and wonder and will try not too wonder where the plot holes go. Too bad as some of those story lines were good.

But you seem to be forgetting that Henry wiped Jack's memory of that alternate future timeline. Jack was still interested in Allison because he had been before, but he does not remember the years they were married.

Very well put! Agreed, 100%. The only out I give the writers is that maybe they're working on the premise that they think that, by keeping the show moving forward, and not get TOO complicated w/ the character plot lines, they'd make it easier to pick up new viewers ? ( I feel I'm REALLY reaching here, but it's the best I got ) The cloned Kim bit was simply ridiculous, made zero sense, and forced me to stop watching the rest of that ep all together.

Not only Carter and Allison, but what of Jo and her relationship w/ Taggart ? Seems that could have at least been a running sub plot, w/ hints and casual references dropped here and there, to what was/ might become. But no.

There's mostly dead and then there's all dead. Or... Much like there was a 'cure' for mutants in XMEN The Last Stand. Maybe somethings don't always take, fully
