Okay, here's the deal. In an episode of TNG there is a piece of artwork - called a polage -- on the wall in the background. I don't remember what the episode was - but I saw a polage.

Here's a link so you can see what I'm talking about. www.austine.com

The artist, Austine Wood Comarow, is extremely talented and fortunately for me, I bought a polage 17 years ago as an wedding present for my husband.

I'm trying to find out the episode so I can provide it to Austine. Wouldn't it be cool for you to find out that one of your pieces of art was in Star Trek and you never knew it?!?

David's polage was damaged last year and Austine just fixed it for me ... for free.

I would really like to pay her back by providing her with the name of the episode.

Come on browncoats, help me out here.

Do you recall any other details, like was it in a crewmember's quarters or down on a planet? How big was it? Anything you remember could help.

From what I remember, it was down on a planet. One of the main characters, Pikard or Riker was standing in the foreground and the polage was hanging behind them.

I'm thinking it was a private home. The piece was about 2 or 3' across and it was the changing pattern that made me realize it was a polage.

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking I might have to rent every disk from Blockbuster or something to find it.

I have no idea, but I'm sure if you post over on the Trek BBS, someone will know:

Unfortunately, my knowledge of TNG episodes doesn't go THIS far, but I'll ask around to see if any of the other Trek fans I know has any idea.

Great ideas from everyone. I appreciate the help - I would REALLY like to give Austine the information about which episode her work appeared in.
UPS is supposed to deliver David's back to us tomorrow, I can't wait to get it back up on the wall. *sigh*

Thanks for all your help. Browncoats and Trekkers rock!

Freedom is Important because People are Important

If they were down on a planet in someone's home...

There was a TNG ep about a devastated and destroyed world with one scrap of habitable land. Upon this land a single elderly couple lived in a modest home.

Picard and company beam down regularly to talk to this couple and unravel the mystery of why they are the only ones alive.

Does this sound like the episode you envisaged?

The most memorable line in this episode was:

Worf: "Good tea... nice house."
