"You didn't mind the nacelles being too close together, or the "neck" being too far back on the secondary hull?"

Hello,

If you want to critique design, you're looking in the wrong place.

Let me ask you something...

How big is the new ship?

Eh, I own it, I watch it, I like it (I even own the toy)... I'm just a design freak is all. I even *like* the NuE after a fashion; I just wish it was, y'know, a little truer to the Jefferies design.

From the look of the shuttle bay, I'd say about 11-1200 feet long.

Hello Chris,

Scroll down to the 'Enterprise Size Controversy' or read the whole thing. This guy is a serious nitpicker and very entertaining.

Heh, this is a debate best left in the purview of Trek diplomats.

I'm fine with 1200 feet.

Hello,

That would also be my preference. I wish just once, just ONCE, the Trek people would keep the FX shots all consistent.

They couldn't even keep the shuttlebay shots consistent in the same movie for the same ship. It's boggling and irritating.

Babylon 5 from 1994 should not have better FX consistency than Trek from 2009... but it does.

Can I assume then that you like the new FX on the newly remastered eps?

I don't have and probably have not seen remastered eps of the TOS. I was pointing out how often lame music is inserted to scifi, rendering it hopelessly dated within a few years. TOS did not do that, and I feel that Firefly also avoided that pitfall. Scifi of future times should steer clear of this trap. TOS SFX were effectively the leading edge for more than 10 years, far beyond what should be expected.

I think you'd like the remastered episodes. All the design elements you cherish are there, nothing is changed in that regard. Now, they just look.... better.

Remember I said I started watching "Star Trek: Enterprise". Well in season 1, episode 16, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed is having a dream and in it T'pol is telling him the Vulcan word for serenity is malcolm. What are the chances of that?

Not very good, actually, since Reed doesn't actually speak Vulcan.

It is just a dream, so I suspect this is not true, but it seems strange that our good Captain Reynold's first name is made to mean serenity in Reed's dream.
