There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I was surprised there hasn't been a topic started on this film yet, or if there has I apologize for missing it.

Saw it yesterday, I loved it, although I reserve the right to change my mind on subsequent viewings.

Here's my review - http://templetongate.net/inception.htm

Seeing it on Wednesday and I'm really looking forward to it. Nolan is one of my fave directors of recent years and add to that a big cast that can actually act rather than just being a 'star' names and hopefully it wil be THE summer movie of this year.
It'll be nice to see an action movie that has brains as well and doesn't treat it's audience like idiots. There's enough of that type about.

Will post more when I've actually seen it.

STORYMARK

Just saw it, really, really enjoyed it. That's 7 Nolan films in a row I really liked. Can't think of another director with a track record that solid.

Did anyone else notice that the wife of Leo Dicaprio's character was named "Mal" and that his own character's name was "Cobb"... as in Jayne Cobb?

Either that's a big coincidence, or Nolan, the director AND the writer, is a Firefly fan!

(or maybe the names were just floating around in his sub-conscious?)

The problem with that theory is that the character of Mal in Inception pronounces her name as the French word for evil (as in "la petit mal" and also the alternate word for shopping center), not the way the shortened form of Malcolm is pronounced.

EcGordon --

Well, obviously the pronunciation was different and I understand your implied argument that the character name likely rooted, not from our beloved captain, but from the idea of "evil", or "bad", etc..

Yet,
That the prefix "mal" indicates "bad" (like malevolent) is also clearly mentioned by River in one episode.

Sure, I agree, its a stretch, even with the added and less explainable Cobb thrown in,
but Its a thought... especially, as I mentioned, on a subconscious level. Who knows if Firefly was on in the background one night as he created his characters years ago?

Hello,

I've been advised that the movie is being shown in some areas with an option to use Dbox motion seats. In case anyone likes to 'ride the movies.'

Hello,

Look for it to be applied to a porn theater in areas near you!

(Do they still have those?)

I read somewhere that it took him eight years to complete the script, so you may be right.

You need to read Gary Westfahl's review, it's just as trippy as the movie.

This is a copy and paste from the other thread as it was much easier than typing it all again:

Absolutely brilliant movie that kept me going throughout the whole experience. Brilliantly acted and directed. Complex but not so much that you can't follow what's going on and will provide further rewards on repeated viewings.
Makes The Matrix look like a kids story and completely shats all over the sequels. Intelligent, action packed, funny in small parts, and thought provoking.

It was nice to see that Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard weren't just cast as token females and actually played major parts in the overall story.
The fight scenes were incredible especially knowing that Nolan used as little CGI as possible and instead went for revolving rooms.

As for what the film was about and how it played out then that's something I'm not ready to commit to yet. Obviously the broad message is live in reality not in dreams but there was so much more to it. I have a couple of decent theories and some other ideas floating around in my brainpan but I only saw it a few hours ago and it hasn't had time to settle yet.

This is probably gonna be my film of the year as I can't think of anything being released later this year that could beat it. A rare breed amongst the dredge of pointless remakes, dumb comedies, kiddie-fied action and non-scary horror movies.
