Today I unearthed a couple of models, and retouched them paint-wise, and totally fixed a broken one...

Built 1983- needed more paint & some glue. Lost the broken dish, so until I fashion another, it's the Falcon AFTER Lando trashed it escaping the second Death Star.

Built 1984- This one was in pieces. Nice to see it all together again. Very minor paint touch up.

Model circa 1983- Just built by Sonisall yesterday, painted today. Needs some battle damage action to be done soon.

So post your work on models here, or even replicas that you love!

Nice models and thanks for the credit.

What size is the Falcon? It's hard to tell against the grass.

I have no patience for modelling, even as a kid. Which is strange because I can spend hours fine tuning a vector drawing or blending/tidying photos but when it comes to models (or replica props in my case) I just want it done.

I have an idea for that last piccy with the blue light. If you can take the shot again but add some smoke (or maybe steam as it would be easier and safer) you might be able to get some nice volumetric shadows from the ship.
Just a thought.

I haven't built plastic models in over 10 years. I used to do it all the time too. I had the Falcon, Enterprise D, Voyager, Reliant, Scratch built Firetrucks (I was a firefighter for a long time) and the like.

I got into 3D modeling when I got hooked on Microsoft Flight Simulator and have built many "Virtual" planes in that medium

CYBERSNARK

All my models are in another city at the moment, but I have the Voyager, DS9, the Defiant, a horribly-painted D'Derridex Warbird, an unlabelled Runabout (the decals tore when I tried to attach 'em), A badly-painted Snowspeeder, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, a custom-painted Starfury, and some "micro-models" of a trio of Vulture droids and a tableau of the Echo Base hangar (featuring a bunch of tiny-scale X-Wings, snowspeeders, a Gallofree transport, and the Falcon.

And a bunch of model cars, but they don't really count.

I used to have an X-Wing/B-Wing/TIE Interceptor set (a three-pack of separate models), but the B-Wing fell apart through normal play, and a shelf of encyclopaedias collapsed on the X-Wing. I think the Squint is still intact, but it's up in the attic.

Yeah, I used to be quite a modeller when I was young and had time and resources.

It the big MPC model-

18.5 inches long. That was a lot of fun to make.

My next project is restoring a Flying Sub model I made in the seventies, and never painted, then it broke over the years in different moves (just like my Airwolf).
Pictures will ensue.

Okay, lots of work going on on my early seventies Flying Sub model that I built back then but never completed.

First of all, besides the fact that the windows turned all yellow & cracked after 35 + years, they were too small, so I removed them and carved them bigger openings. Thick acetate bent to the right shape will replace them. Also, the hatches top & bottom were missing the latches- no biggie- easy to simulate with a few pieces from "tree" extras from the X-Wing kit.

Pictures of the completed model will follow shortly.

Nice job on accurizing the windows and the hatches!
There used to be a nice site with tons of photos of the original studio miniature, but I can't find it anymore.

I found a site but I can't link to it!!!!@@!

I had to connect the dark blue stripes around the nose of the ship, I realized. They do not break as in the photos I just posted. Perfection is a road, it seems...

I made a Flying Sub & Seaview add-ons for Virtual Sailor < http://www.hangsim.com/vs/boats.php?dzone=sub>, but they didn't come out anything like this!

(I just love how it does that little rocking motion when the port engine starts up!)

They are a little different. But some of it is the angle & proximity to the camera.

I believe the model is more accurate than the simpler lines of the toy though.

Loving the Airwolf pics.
There both nice models Lil Wolf and Big Wolf.

If I had lotsa money (i.e. big lottery win) I'd take helicopter lessons, buy a Bell 222 and have someone kit it all out like Airwolf.
It would be too cool for words. Pimp My Copter.

$250 !!!!
Ah well, even if I had the cash he only delivers inside the US so I'm buggered both ways. Nice model though.
As a side note I always pictured Airwolf in my head as the dark cobalt blue, not black. I never did find out which one was officially correct.
Do you know? Did you see it as black or blue?

It's mainly black with a touch of bluish-green thrown in. I painted my model accordingly. I researched it like mad back then.

Just got & customized this- Futura Shuttlecraft from Ebay ($6 *with* shipping; there's more to be had there), had to shave off a piece on the top front, and get rid of the one window that was in the wrong place, and paint in the correct ones & paint the shaved area. Other than that, it's really good.

Other than what I had to change (small stuff, really) it's the most accurate model of the shuttlecraft I could find (and I LOOKED!). I was tempted to do an interior (still am). Maybe next week! Seriously, I never worked this small before. It's like, the size of two quarters.

Ohhhhhhh, that's byooooteeful!
They do all the hard work for you over there in Japan, huh?
I never built an Airwolf kit, but I'd have hated to mask off the black/white areas for painting, especially the rounded bit under the nose.
