So, I'm the ONLY one watching, huh?

I've enjoyed the BBC series (season 3 finished a few weeks back).

Is this a US remake you're talking about?

Yes. I ordered the BBC version, cause I wanted to catch every ep, from the beginning. Since most 'originals' are better than the remakes, and I kinda like the SyFy version, I have high hopes I'll like it.

I'm watching but I'm not as excited about this show as I thought I'd be, I expected more. I haven't seen the BBC version so I don't know if I'm missing anything.

Pretty good. Drama with false flags and comedy. But not campy comedy like Joss. Lots of killing and blood like Joss. Lots of bloody sex, then killing, if you're into that sort of thing. Makes the psychopath lifestyle look tempting...

Josh: I think the wolf eats its own poo....
Ray: Yeah...Yeah that's the worst.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I just got caught up. As a fan of the original, I was more than a little concerned about the remake, but it's been totally watchable. And actually, I like a few of the things they've done differently. It's followed the same basic storyline, there are things I absolutely saw coming, but they shook it up in parts. And a few of the things happening now didn't happen until later in the original. I'm very upset by the latest series on BBC, actually, so I'd be okay with this one going a bit differently.
Only thing is that I still like the characters on the BBC version a little more. Annie, their ghost, in particular. Also a huge, huge fan of Mitchell, their vampire, but Aiden is growing on me and I adore Josh. I don't know that I would own this version, though, where I would like to own at least the first two series of the BBC version.

What reason had proved best ceased to look absurd to the eye, which shows how idle it is to think anything ridiculous except what is wrong.

I'm looking forward to seeing the original. Especially now that the Syfy version is 'tween seasons.

Kinda funny to talk of two shows, same plot and characters, but different names. And it's even more curious to compare 'their' ghost, 'their' vampire,etc.... to the SyFy version.

Dunno, but I just think it's cool.

I'm guessing 'The Dutch' aren't the same either... wait, don't tell me !

If I remember right, the BBC vampire Elders live somewhere in South America. They are not referred to as 'The South Americans.' And I don't recall them being mentioned until series 3; it's one of those things that's progressing a little quicker in the remake.

It is very weird to talk about the two shows with different character names. The vampires mess me up in particular, because the actor who plays Mitchel is named Aiden Turner, and I guess the people at SyFy thought it would be cute to name their vampire after the BBC's actor? I dunno, but it tripped me up a bit.

Saw the first 3 seasons of the BBC version.. wow.

In brief - liked the bbc vampire a bit more than the US, the US werewolf a good bit more, and the BBC ghost chick a lot more.

Can't wait for season 2 on syfy.
