Possible Roswell movie:

http://scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2004-04/13/10.00.rumors

it does mention the BDM at the end... sort of as a "it worked for them..."

The Man They Call Soul...

OH MY GOD!! That would be so ruttin' awesome if they did that! That is my favorite show of all time, right up there next to Firefly.

If that's true...that would rock!!

EDIT: Okay, after calming dowm, I checked RoswellMovie.net, and it turns out that, according to Jason Katims' assistant, there is no Roswell movie in the works right now.

Oh well. It was fun for the moment.

sweet! thanx!

I have to say, this was a good show -- i watched it for the first time on SciFi in August and after watching the first scene i sat and watched it for four hours. It was just that good. i have a bit of an obsessive personality and this was my obsession before Firefly.
i missed both of these shows on primetime (i missed the first 5 seasons of Buffy and all of Angel that way too). I always have rehearsals in the evenings. I am definitly toying with the idea of buying the DVDs for Roswell (i already started w/Buffy seasons). Do you have the DVDs? do they have special fetures and such?

For the official release of the Roswell DVD's they had to change alot of the music because of licencing costs, but if you haven't seen the show, then you really can't tell. There's a bunch of special features and it's put together well. Only season 1 is out right now.

I actually bought all 3 seasons off of a website that is selling them. They are bootleg copies but they are done very well. I just wanted the original music since I watched the show while it was on the air.

It's a great show and it got cut down too early.

P.S. Sci-Fi is giving it a daily time slot soon and it will run the entire series through. Check SciFi.com for the specific times.

i got hooked on it on Sci-Fi, but i missed a day (so, about 4 episodes) and i didn't want to jump around chronologically, but it looks like they are starting from the beginning tomorrow -- how sweet is that?
thanks for the heads up!

Well I for one am a bit relieved theres no movie - I really tried to get into this but gave up after the first 6 or 7 episodes. I found it tedious and boring but hey thats just my opinion.

mrskborg, as I say (and as Ghoulman vehemently refuses to say):

To each his own!

It may not be your cup of tea, but as long as no Firefly bashing goes on around here, it's all good!

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

I truly enjoyed it when they knew they were alien and struggling to find out what they were, what they were becoming, and how or if to fit in. Talk about being geared to teenage 'alienation'. Or alienation at any age for people who don't find a handy guide to themselves in the society around them.

Like the physicists who said they had the Universe figured out - that it was just a big clockwork predictably running down according to the laws they'd discovered - I hope for a boring personal life for the foreseeable future. (Boring is a good way to LIVE - it means no crises.)

But I have a preference for stories where the truly unknown is subtly tucked into everyday life. For those who know it, Stanislaw Lem's 'The Investigation' is the archetype.

And that unknown element in everyday life is what I liked about Roswell and X-Files. But then Roswell got into a 'conspiracy' mode and it took a wide open premise and turned it into cops-n'-robbers. I thought the same thing about X-Files. I thought it was a shame.

I sort of agree with this, at least when it comes to multiple viewings. The first time I saw Roswell, it held my interest enough that I wanted to see each succeeding episode. However, unlike Firefly, which is highly re-watchable, Roswell does get tedious and boring (for me) when viewed more than once. It has a story that's interesting to see one time, but it doesn't have the depth and complexity of Firefly.

But if they made a movie, I'd probably go once. When "Serenity" comes out, I'm going to see it ten times (and that's just the first weekend).

SoulOfSerenity,

Can you tell me if the Roswell theme (Dido) was changed? I thought it was the best theme song of any TV show, possibly of all time.

Roswell was for me a fabulous love story, far more than an alien thing. I thought the acting was outstanding, for the most part, and I particularly liked Bill Sadler's character.

(And I was/am in love with Majandra, of course, but that doesn't have anything to do with my liking Roswell.)(Not really.)

They wouldn't change the theme song or any of the songs that were on the soundtrack. For the most part, you really don't even notice that the songs are different, which is good.

P.S. And Majandra...I must agree!

Many thanks. Guess I'll have to get the DVD. I have all the Roswell eps on tape, but much scattered, and difficult to watch. Before I saw this thread, I wasn't aware a DVD existed of Roswell.

Yup, and seasons 2 & 3 will be out soon, too. I still prefer my DVD's though. It's all 3 seasons, pretty decent quality with all the original music, but obviously bootleg copies. The funny thing though, in America it's "Roswell", but for the first season in England, it was "Roswell High", so that's what comes up on the opening credits of my season one. Kinda funny, at least to me...
