A new independent film Europa Report has been building momentum among scifi purists for hard-scifi, NASA, mathemathical approach that heavily incorporates scientific accuracy. Tired of watching heroes in capes shooting laser beams from eyes? Tired of green headed aliens and Trek's warp speeds, tried of Star Wars Death Stars and Lucas Light Sabres? Then Europa report might be your thing. The Europa story The story follows the six-person crew of Europa One on its mission to touch down on Jupiter's moon Europa. Recent science findings suggest there may be life in the oceans deep below the moon's icy surface. Characters in the movie behave like real people on a believable mission to search for alien life on Europa, the world Europa is an icy moon of Jupiter that today's astrobiologists yearn to explore.

I tend to enjoy this types of films as much as I like a good Trek episode. Sunshine was solid and really loved Moon. I hope to catch this one as soon as I can, which probably won't be for a while, limited release and all...
