Joel and the bots are attempting to revive the classic hilarious t.v. series, but they need YOUR help!

Hello, People of Earth. Welcome!

I'm Joel Hodgson....

Once upon a time, a television series called MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 was born. We debuted on Minneapolis' KTMA, local television, on Thanksgiving Day 1988, as the world was in the final throes of Teddy Ruxpin-mania. That was almost thirty years ago, but for some reason, people still seem to like the show – it’s a mitzvah!

Our show has had a long, strange run. Across a UHF channel, a cable network, cancellation, a feature film, then another cable network, the show lasted for 12 years, two generations of hosts and puppeteers, 2 Emmy nominations and a total of 197 episodes before we got canceled again for good in 1999. Sadly, it was just as Prince predicted.

But maybe that's not where it all ends.

Starting today, we finally get a chance to bring back MST3K.

I bought one of the MST dvd sets at a sci fi con a while back just to see how they handled one of my favorite 60's cheesy 'B' movies ... "Women Of The Prehistoric Planet". They tore it up even better than I could have imagined. It was hi-larious! Then again, with a cast that included John Agar, Irene Tsu, Merry Anders, Stuart Margolin, and Robert Ito they had a lot to work with. Hai kiba!

I loved that shit back in the day :)

If you build it, they will come.....

I'm excited as hell to watch W/Bob and David. 17 years after Mr. Show was cancelled on HBO, Netflix is giving us another 4 episode run of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross's hilarious sketch comedy.

I LOVE the non-network TV out there today and I ESPECIALLY LOVE how old series I loved have been or are being revived.

Who ever thought we'd get a 4th season of Arrested Development (also starring David Cross), thanks to Netflix? You probably never heard of Trailer Park Boys, but thanks to Netflix they made 3 more seasons of it after a 5 year hiatus (and hopefully more)!

Maybe if we ask nice enough, Netflix or Hulu or Amazon will bring back our Firefly?

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Yeah I was initially like "it's a funny show but I rarely have time for something like that". Then they added Felicia. Now I'll have to watch it.

We've got movie sign!!!!!

MSK3K is now on Netflix

I like what they're TRYING to do, but to be honest, the first ep was a bit shaky. First 2 movies are horrifically bad ( good ? ) too, but as they move along, I hope things smooth out.

Kinda wish they'd gone a different way with Patton Oswalt... the original TV's Frank was great in part because he wasn't known before, and Patton is a bona fide " name ", albeit on a more side kick way.

Isn't that on free broadcast TV? I am constantly seeing that on my tuner programming guide, and the goods when I select that channel (the film featured is not listed on the guide).

The new stuff, MST3K The Moon, is exclusively on Netflix.

Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt are the new 'big bads' , and instead of Gizmonic Institute, there's a secret base on the dark side of the moon... hence the name.

You may be seeing ads for the original series ?

Not much in terms of ads, just the actual shows. But I don't know enough about them to see the difference between old and new. I think it's on the Comet Network. For me, that is The CW dot 2 or 3.

Unless you've seeing it on Netflix, you're watching the original stuff. First there was Joel, then Mike. Joel's were funnier, imo. And there's really no point in debating that issue. I'm right, all others are wrong.

If somebody else says you're right, are they wrong?

Nope, they're agreeing with me that Joel is the best. Period.
