One of the weirdest song remakes I've ever heard. First listen, it didn't seem to have anything to do with the original NIN song Head Like a Hole, but listening again to the lyrics, particularly in the second half of the video, it might have a lot more to do with the original song than the cheese factor and strip club vibe of the video would lead you to believe.

"I'm going to get what I deserve"...

Knowing Black Mirror, I don't doubt that Miley.

I'm wondering if Miley's character is the pop singer that originally sung the song that has popped up on several episodes over they years and first appeared in 15 Million Merits in the American Idol-esque contest show?

I really need to catch up on this show. I haven't even watched the choose-your-own-adventure Bandersnatch episode yet.

Couldn't help myself. The youtube video advertisement was just too unique and I gave it a watch.

I LOVED it.

I'm probably not a great critic when it comes to somebody's acting chops, but I've got to say that the heavy eye roll I did when I found out Miley Cyrus was one of the main actors was undeserved. She did just fine in the roll as far as I'm concerned.

SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!

Seriously, don't read any further unless you've already seen the episode or you don't ever plan on watching Black Mirror.

You've been warned.

Not only is "Ashley O" the original artist that created the song from 15 Million Merits, but her aunt and her doctor extracted it from her brain after she was put into a forced coma. This is pretty awesome since this song has popped up in at least 3 episodes now since 15MM. I don't think they ever signified a date in 15MM, but that could mean that the "American Idol" show in that episode could have been taking place hundreds of years after Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.

It's been many years since I watched those first two seasons... years before Netflix picked it up, so I'm not sure if they were already throwing easter eggs in episodes linking each story in a shared universe, or if that decision was made after Netflix picked it up. I love the decision to do that, wherever it originated.

Check out things like the news tickers when somebody has a news program on in the background and you'll find nods to other episodes too.

This really makes me want to re-watch every episode and see how many I can spot and if it was going on since it first aired in the UK.

If I had a single complaint about this episode, it's one line that comes right after the credits. Ashley O is found in a bar, rocking out on a guitar with her new friend, making a huge departure from her pop-tart persona. Right before performing a re-worked version of Nine Inch Nail's actual song "Head Like A Hole", she says "I wrote this song about my shitty aunt!".

I mean... kind of cool. It definitely fits her personality and is something that her character would have done once she broke free of her aunt's influence.

But at the same time, because of the great lengths that the series as a whole goes to link all of these episodes together, this single seemingly throwaway line makes a solid break between the universe of Black Mirror and our own.

Well... there's always the Mandela Effect that could be used to explain away all of that in the future if they wanted reverse that decision. Or the Mengele Effect, if you're Reggie.

For most of her life, she was the star of her show. When she auditioned, the portion with performing a concert she nailed.

Never heard of Hannah Montana?

I don't get her, at all. She had some crazy success, early on, Disney and then out on her own, then something just snapped. She started over reaching and forcing her talents to areas which just weren't natural for her, imo. Drugs, who knows... maybe that's just who she really is, but it doesn't register w/ me one bit.

Yeah. Of course I've heard of Hannah Montana. Just because she was on a kid's show doesn't mean that she was actually a good actress though. All I really knew about her was all her crazy stunts a few years back. I just figured in the age of the internet we were just able to witness child stars crash and burn right in your face instead of just fading into obscurity like when I was growing up.

I hope she has her shit together, for real. I never in a million years would have thought she'd not only be on my favorite current TV show, but that she was actually really good in it too.

It's not my favorite episode or anything, but it's firmly in the top half of the episodes of a great show that hasn't had a single bad episode, IMO.

Seems like a safe bet at this point. She's getting solid work and married to Liam Hemsworth, so yeah, life probably doesn't suck for her too much these days.

" … married to Liam Hemsworth " .

And now not so much. That era of bliss lasted exactly 7 months , give or take a week.

Reports were that she cheated on Liam w/ a woman. She angrily denies it, yet has been seen in the cozy company of … a woman. Looking like quite the couple. Because she's ' bi ', and stuff. What ever. She's pure white trash, and no amount of $ will ever change that.
