I wanted to say a few things about the first season of BG without spoiling US viewers that haven't seen the end. Still, I'm going to be a little vague here in case someone accidently stumbles across this thread.

I just finished watching the Season 1 finale and have this to say.

HOLY FUCK.

That's what I shouted at the end, whereafter my jaw couldn't close until the episode ended. The episode kept me on the edge of my seat, and the twists were good at both advancing the plot and keeping you waiting anxiously for the next season. The ending, though.... well, see above.

Now for the real spoilers:

I don't QUITE buy the coup. While beautifully executed, it seemed a bit forced just to add tension

BUT, we have an interesting situation here. At the start of Season 2 Col. Tigh will be in charge of everything. Baltar is on Kobol, and if Adama lives he'll still be out of commission for a little while. Tigh seems unlikely to reinstate the president, but I don't think he has what it takes to lead the survivors.

Baltar... was he having a vision of the future or could he have possibly seen his OWN CHILD. Six was visiting him for a LONG time before the mini-series started, after all.

I saw the finale last night and totally agree! My jaw was wide open at the end and I had goosebumps! It was a great twist! I couldn't speak, although I kept thinking "they can't end it like that?!" :)

It's cracking stuff! Looking forward to season two!

I just watched a downloaded version from Sky One and let me add to this... HOLY FRACKING CRAP!!!

I am not someone who is easily surprised by movies or television. I guessed correctly who Keyser Soze was from "The Usual Suspects". A feat that earned me animosity from my girlfriend. But nowhere, and I mean nowhere did I see the last scene coming from.

Hats off to Moore and Eick (sp?) they have produced an astounding season of science fiction.

Now I'm jonesin' for more episodes. ACK! It's Firefly all over again!

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

Unbelievable television, the finale was the best episode to date. Pure gold. So glad I wasn't spoiled for it. They have to make another series.

I loved the final episode to pieces, can`t wait for the next series to begin - it was very well executed, the cliff hanger ending would never have happened in the original BSG series, but the question that I want to be raised is why nobody else shot defensively? or was this a case of quick submission with the amount of security around?

Frak, Frel, and Gorram what a show! Just saw number 13 via sky one and kind GB fans. This is drama and super writing. Maybe as good as Joss plus all episodes were written by RONALD D. MOORE I believe.

Holy cliffhanger Batman!!! I did NOT see that ending coming!!

I agree that the coup seemed a bit forced. With one or two more sub-plots, they could have easily fleshed out both Boomer's mission to the basestar and the conflict between President and Commander, giving us a two-hour episode.

I still think they were going overboard with the hand-held-camera look. I was distracted by the wander-cam several times, to the point where I'd miss dialogue. The zooms and pans in space work very well. I just think that they should turn it down a notch or two during conversation between characters.
Ok, season 2 begins when?

I've been reading the summaries on the Skyone webpage, and I must agree. They HAVE to follow this season up. They have to, with all of those cliffhangers. The last three or so episodes are just amazing.

I nearly fell of the couch at the end! Didn't ee that coming at all. What a way to end. There's gotta be more!
