Baltar seems to think that #6 is simply a part of his psyche, and something his own mind's conjured up (perhaps to help deal with his guilt in royally screwing over the human race). Call it another personality. I'm more inclined to think that it's something #6 did to him or put in him, and that she's not simply a figment of his imagination but that her personality is actually inside his noggin.

I have never entertained the idea that #6 is just a figment of Baltars imagination. Seemed obvious to me she was a technological contruct of some sort.

I could be wrong.. but i'm not.

Uh, in a manly and purely platonic fashion.

Does Blue Sun sponser the Blue Man Group?

As far as I am aware, as long as the material stayed in place until she reached the vacuum of space, then the patch would have been held airtight by the actual vacuum itself. The problem would have been keeping it airtight as she went through the atmosphere, not once she actually reached space. Still, maybe possible.

Don't squat with your spurs on.

I don't know. It would have taken a lot of force to get that bird off the ground. There would have been plenty of wind trying to blow that suit back into the hole even before she got airborne. Even a high tech patch kit would have been more plausible.

See, to me a town of 50,000 is considered a large town - but then I come from small town.

Starbuck, Minnesota.
Population: 1,300

I would agree with that, except that this seems to be a very interplanetary-oriented society. It might not be considered unusual for folks to "commute" from planet to moon. Every ship in the fleet has jump capability too, so they could even commute from planet to planet. I would go for more of a blend of society, but from opposite ends of the spectrum - the rich and affluent rubbing elbows with the upper working class.

Your point about lab assistants is more what I was thinking - surely there are people who could be trained to help with the Cylon detection and stuff, at least once they've been tested and ruled out as Cylons themselves. You'd think that Adama and the other leaders would be insisting on it, too, with how crazy Baltar acts. I mean, if I saw the one man who's responsible for the fleet's security dry-humping a lab bench I'd start looking for ways to spread the workload a bit.

Except the only one who saw that was Starbuck, and apparently she never told anybody. and look how that ended up - BLEH!

Funny thing is, I love this show as a whole. I don't really have any favorites in terms of characters. I'd probably lean toward Starbuck if she was a he, but I like this one too.

So here's a question for some speculation; Richard Hatch seems to have found his niche in the new series. So if (and this really is only a "what if") the other actors from the original were cast in the new version, what would you like to see them doing?

I recently bought the orignal Battlestar DVD set and was watching the special features disk which had lots of interviews with the old cast.

It makes me feel real old to see how my favourite characters have aged over the years. Dirk Benedict (Starbuck) has gone all old an wrinkly. Casseopia still looks allright to me, she musta been YOUNG back then.

I have no oppostion to originals making appearances in whatever form.

Did anyone else notice Serenity landing in the background just before Mary McDonnell gets the bad news about her cancer in the mini-series? I have a screenshot if anyone would like to host it, i'll send it them to post. :)

Other people have certainly noticed. One of the questions at Serenity con was whether they'd return the favour in Serenity.

I'm up to 12. But I need to clarify something... How many eps are there altogether, excluding the pilot?

I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms when first season ends.

Nah, the links are still there... in this post:
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=8&t=8894#127554

People complained that I was stuffing the thread with irrelevant stuff, then someone else complained that there are kids on the board so all that skin is inappropriate, then other people moaned about thread length and load time, at then end, someone asked the mods to turns the links off...

anyways, if you take those links, cut-n-paste them into another browser in the URL line, you should still get the picture.
