I've never seen the show - it doesn't air over here,
I didn't watch Alias - I just dismissed it as a Buffy-wanna-cash-in.

But Lost....... I'm tempted, something's struck a chord.

So I put it to my fellow Browncoats, bastions of good taste that you are. Is Lost worth my money?

I've had the misfortune of missing a number of the episodes and therefore I find a lot of it confusing and don't understand. However, despite that I still do my best to catch it because it is so gripping. I was just debating last night whether or not I should stop watching it now having missed so much and just wait for the DVD to come out so I can watch everything.

My point is, yes. For my money, its a definite yes.

Super - I think I will,

It was in my amazon recommendations thing and I only just clicked on it - it's not out 'till Sept though.

I NEED SOMETHING TO WATCH!!!

Ren and Stimpy 1 + 2..... I could get that with my Serenity book. Hmmmmmmmm.

America loves a winner!

Seems buying the DVD is about the only possible way of ever watching each episode in order, as it was suppose to air. Tricky bastahds!

Yeah, I'll buy it, unless the season finale really REALLY bites.

I think I plan on buying it. I wanna see where this all goes first. Not that I'm skeptical, it's just I was all set to buy everything Smallville released. Then all the sudden I lost the stomach for the show. Meanwhile I can't wait for Season 7 of SG1-1 Already owning 1-6.

Check out my shop! Firefly & LOST products.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I consider "Lost" to be the best episodic television since Firefly, with "Wonderfalls" a close second. I already own "Wonderfalls" and have "Lost" on pre-order from amazon.

I think that should answer your question as far as I'm concerned.

YES! Lost is the best new show (tied with Desperate Housewives IMHO) Great story-telling and acting all around. Its from the guys that do Alias so theres mysteries around every corner. Buy it now.

Lost is very over rated. I would recommend buying the first season for Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars way before Lost.

Most viewers come away from Lost a little disappointed, because the writers seems to be more interested in giving us our weekly flash backs than actually telling us what is going on on the island. Giving us back story on each character every single week, week after week after week seem rather excessive and makes the stories on the island less involving.

Maybe in season two they will finally focus on the island and give the flash backs a rest for a while. It's like they are spending the whole of the first season giving us the back story on all the characters and then in season two they will finally start telling us the actual story.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

I plan on buying it. I missed maybe 5 episodes altogether (including the first one), but that's not why I'd get it. I've been able to track the story anyway. The episodes I've seen are between interestng and gripping, and can stand on their own. Even if the season finale is a let-down (and honestly, I can't imagine HOW they are going to do it), I would get the DVD on the strength of the other episodes.

I love all three shows as well. Also, I think Firefly, Lost, and Wonderfalls may have had the all time best pilot episodes I've ever seen.

To each his own, but to say that most people come away from Lost feeling disappointed is a big stretch. Maybe most people you know, but most people I know come away looking like a paralyzed crack addict wondering how they're going to get their next fix.

As for the flashbacks, they are essential, not just because we need to know what's up with the characters. They're starting to show that everyone on the island was somehow connected before they even stepped on the plane. Plus, if we were watching hour after hour after hour of stuff on the island, they'd run out of stories pretty quick.

An escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. You would never seen an "Escalator temporarily out of order" sign, just "Escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

As for Lost I could not agree with you more.

Also thanks for having the Hedberg joke. He was one of my all time favorite comedians. He will be missed!
