Alright, so I was looking at some Trek website today when I found this...

http://st-hypertext.com/tng/tng_project.html

Wow. It's sad that the dude would even ask for that, it's even sadder that he's already made $450. Are people really so incapable of forming their own opinions that they would pay to read someone else's?

Oh, and by the way, I want to write Firefly reviews, but I think I need a new sound system and a widescreen TV to maximize my viewing experience. Please send your donations.

Doctor Payne, you forgot to put up your PayPal address for us to send you money for your new TV.

I bet if you bought a really big plasma screen, your reviews would be great.

Hey Doc, I'd like your reviews to reflect my viewing experience also, so please accept this Apex 4" screen dvd player w/headphones.
Oops. I dropped it.

Ah c'mon. It's a fun thing. It's like buying snowballs on e-bay. You don't do it because you need or want it. You do it because it's so utterly stupid. Well, I'm off to paypal!

That is so very sad. I would never donate to something like that. First off, just because I don't trust people begging for money over the internet. Second, because who cares about reviews for a really old show anyway?

There's your first problem. People who waste all their time looking at websites about old TV shows are...wait, never mind.

Wait, so... people will pay him to write reviews for a show that they've watched, and formed their own opinions about, and obviously like enough to browse websites devoted to it, and then muster the funds to send to him to... what, re-establish their opinions, because... ?

That makes even less sense than the big run-on sentence I just typed out.

I'm going to set up a PayPal site so people can pay to read all about me.

Hey, you all owe me money! I've been writing stuff about myself here for almost a year now, with NO income from it whatsoever. THAT is going to stop!

This is all about the Doc and him bein' in need of a extra-large plasma screen tv!
Sure, it seems so trivial to us, what with 40" and 50" plasma screens in every room, but some are not so fortunate. Some poor souls have to watch Firefly on an old 32" flat screen Panasonic!!
You think this is all so funny!

I do not! It is very serious! I think all homeless people should have Firefly shirts and all Firefly watchers should be required to watch ThisShow (said reverently) on MINIMUM 46" screens WITH surround sound (so the silence in space is even MORE silent)!

I just think YOU should be required to provide said televisions and not me, that's all.

If only I had even that... I'm forced to endure wathing Firefly on a 27" NON-flat screen TV. Feel for me, fellow Browncoats! Deliver me from my plight!

Truth to tell, Doctorpayne13, I watch Firefly on a 27" nearly flat screen Sharp with amplifier and good headphones (I tend to watch stuff LATE), and all lights turned OFF!. I used to work at Circuit City, so I pretty much had my pick. My tv looks better than my HD computer moniter! Don't be fooled by the price or the name- just look,
1) Is space perfectly black?
2) Can you read REALLY tiny writing on the screen?
3) Are fleshtones natural?
If yes, it's a good tv
P.S. plasma screens dont last as long as tube tv's
projection tv's need periodic adjustments
led screens will crack if temp goes below freezing

Each tv is produced by different teams, so brands mean nothing. It's the individual set to look at.
BTW my next one's gonna be a 20" widescreen led.
...when I save up the $...

ChrisIsAll,

I watch Firefly on my 50" Sony Wega LCD Projection Television (said in worshipful tones). The picture is AMAZING and I fall in love with Firefly all over again, every time I watch it. The picture is crystal clear and I'm much more comfortable on my 96" overstuffed couch than in any theater on the planet. Throw in some popcorn and who needs sex?

Why? Didja wanna come over and watch too? Bring your own popcorn.

Malicious, the tv you're watching it on is too big. A 20" or 30" led screen would give you so much more detail! Get yourself one, SOON!

Oh, and then you can get rid of your too big Sony piece of fu-wah...by sending it to me. I will include my address in my next post.
