Yes, well put.
Now if season five was the end for BOTH shows, I would have gone with Angel. Dying to stop corny Glory's plan was a dumb way to end the series, thankfully, that didn't happen.

I liked Buffy's season 7 better, I watched Buffy up to season 6 before I even set my sights on Angel, and Buffy's finale closed things up in sunnydale, while still managing to say that "life goes on,"(no pun intended) I think Angel ended a little more openly,

oh I really agree; I always found the entire Glory story line to be incredibly lame...
and unfortunately the strongest episode in Buffy's S5 were too sad (ie The Body) to rewatch much.
I could admire the Buffy giving up her life thing,
but I really preferred Buffy sharing her power!

Buffy had earned her rest, she had won the good fight...

But Angel (and Spike and Illyria too) were never going to rest,
there would be no end to their battles.
They had to continue fighting and seeking redemption forever.

(so I thought the ending to Ats S5 was kinda brilliant)

Angel as a muppet was great for comic value, but for storyline I just wasn't impressed. You have to remember for me though I was still wanting the "happily ever after" for Angel. I loved him and Buffy together and the intro of Spike, well, that was just grand...I never got to see it happen and never believed that Buffy would turn her back on Angel. She would never believe, regardless of his headquarters being at Wolfram and Hart that he had gone in league with them.

As for the Buffyships well...Angel and Spike were the only ones I did like. I liked the whole dark humor of it. I did get tired of her complaining about being with Spike and the fact that she was sooo ashamed.

All the more reason I do not believe that Buffy judged Angel poorly for working at Wolfram and Hart.

Buffy & Co. beat The First?
When did this happen? No one sent me the memo.
In Chosen, they plugged up a hole, no more. The First was thwarted- that one time- in a major attempt at upping the stakes. It's still out there, powerful as ever, it seemed to me.
