"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Joe Crowley speaks out - silently - about the GOP's record on "Jobs, jobs, jobs":

Childish, idiotic and dishonest to the hilt.

No wonder Dems like it.

Hello,

The central charge seems to be that in the past 100 days, the Republicans have not proposed or enacted legislation to enhance the jobs market.

Have they?

Kinda like trying to cut the budget, as is needed, with the Dems in control of* 2 of the 3 branches of government.

What's the point ? The Senate will block it, and or the Prez will veto it.

Hello,

I missed your response to the jobs question.

Were you concerned that the Democrats would block a job creation bill?

Do you feel that the Republicans gave up on the jobs issue before even trying?

Do you then agree with the central complaint of the silent speech?

Yup, and I loved the way he did it. He took one minute, said not a word, yet spoke volumes. It was a theatrical stunt, of course, but one that got attention and brought the focus onto the House and got people asking, "Speaker Boehner, where are the jobs?"

How much was the budget cut when the Rethugs had control of all 3 branches? How much was the deficit slashed? How much of the national debt was paid off?

Well, for all that I occasionally take a shot across the chops for melodrama and grandstanding, if you want to get a message across to people, you HAVE to hold their attention long enough to do so, and entertaining them *IS* a way to do this.

Again, more than half of politics is, in fact, a certain sort of theatre, and often enough the only difference between the King and the Jester is which chair they happen to be sitting in.

Indeed, often the Jester is the more honest of the two!

Amen to this as well. You're on a roll.
