#3 seed Firefly beat Xena, and now beat Avatar/Korra.

In the films, Terminator was seeded 9 and Alien was 8. Alien won? The horror film?

Looks like FIREFLY is up against GAME OF THRONES next. Could be a tough one.

Are these supposed to be Sci-Fi?

Most are, if by sci-fi you mean science fiction. A lot of people lump fantasy and supernatural horror in with SF. Lord of the Rings is on another part of the poll, and Game of Thrones is similar even if not as much a high fantasy as LotR. Twilight Zone is up against The X-Files, both of which are both SF and Fantasy.

I would agree Twilight Zone and X-Files are Sci-Fi, but I do not see Sci-Fi in LotR, or what little I've seen of GoT.
But then Joss said that River's abilities were not possible - did he say Fantasy?

The point I was trying to make is that the term sci-fi is an all inclusive description that includes more than just straight science fiction. That is why I prefer to say either the full words science fiction when it is applicable, or fantasy, or simply SF. That can cover just about everything, especially if by that you mean speculative fiction.

This is probably close to the hundredth time I've had to say this in the sixteen years I've been on the internet. The term "Sci-Fi" was coined by Forrest Ackerman, whose main claim to fame was as the editor of the magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland, and he said many times that it was supposed to include all of the fantastical genres, not just science fiction. That means you should not nitpick and claim that it means only science fiction.

ETA: I believe Joss said that River being a "reader" was as far as he was willing to take it, and I think by that he meant someone who is ultra-perceptive and able to correlate and deduce things that most people would not notice or even be aware of, similar to Sherlock Holmes or Thomas Jane on The Mentalist.

Right. But about her precognitive abilities, did he say that would be Science Fiction, or Fantasy? I forget now.

I can't remember exactly either, but even precognition doesn't necessarily mean "psychic." It could just be further evidence of deductive reasoning that can predict future events based on current actions.
