I'm looking for quotes from people dead or alive about Firefly. Not the tv show, just fireflies in general, cuz I thunk it's kinda funny. Here's some examples."What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset." - Crowfoot's last words (1890), Blackfoot warrior and orator.
"Bah! the one is the feeble glitter of the firefly, & the other the regal glory of the sun." - Mark Twain
"You can take all the sincerity in Hollywood, place it in the navel of a firefly and still have room enough for three caraway seeds and a producer's heart." - Fred Allen
"Look at them run! They know they can't deal with a Firefly!" - Rufus T. Firefly aka Groucho Marx from Duck Soup
Before, beside us, and above
The firefly lights his lamp of love.
- Bishop Reginald Heber, Tour Through Ceylon
Is it where the flow'r of the orange blows,
And the fireflies dance thro' the myrtle boughs?
- Mrs. Felicia D. Hemans, The Better Land
And the fireflies, Wah-wah-taysee,
Waved their torches to mislead him.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Hiawatha
The fireflies o'er the meadow
In pulses come and go.
- James Russell Lowell, Midnight (st. 3)
Tiny Salmoneus of the air
His mimic bolts the firefly threw.
- James Russell Lowell, The Lesson
Now, motionless and dark, eluded search
Self-shrouded: and anon, starring the sky,
Rose like a shower of fire.
- Robert Southey, Madoc (pt. II)
Many a night I saw the Pleiads, rising thro' the mellow shade
Glitter like a swarm of fireflies tangled in a silver braid.
- Lord Alfred Tennyson, Locksley Hall (l. 9)
If ya know of any, lemme know.

Here are some more Firefly Quotes:
Unlike the singing cicadas, the silent fireflies burn themselves. -Japanese Proverb
Religions are like fireflies. They require darkness in order to shine. -Arthur Schopenhauer
Remember when catching fireflies happily occupied an entire evening. -Unknown
There is a place where time stands still...illuminated by only the most feeble red light, for light is diminished to almost nothing at the center of time, its vibrations slowed to echoes in vast canyons, its intensity reduced to the faint glow of fireflies. -Alan Lightman
...love is vast with levels upon levels. The big love that lasts forever, the love that we sing of in ballads, is possible to find... But sometimes there are small loves that glow and vanish like fireflies, and though they offer none of the long term joy of big love, they are far from meaningless. - Owen Edwards
Insights and perceptions pass through the mind like fleet fireflies. Lit for an instant, then gone back into the dark. They are precious, irreplaceable. Leonard Bishop
I can pretend that things last. I can pretend that lives last longer than moments. Gods come and Gods go. Mortals flicker and flash and fade. Worlds don't last; and stars and galaxies are transient, fleeting things that twinkle like fireflies and vanish into cold and dust. But I can pretend. - Olethros
