Yay for getting out of Dodge!

Tomorrow I leave to go home for vacation! Well, it's a "vacation" from paid work to go home to help with harvest. I always take the week that Mom starts school off to go home and be harvest cook and gopher, and occasional truck driver.

I LOVE going home. In a perfect world that's where I'd be. Don't get me wrong, I have a good job that I enjoy with a great boss and coworkers. But it's not where my heart is. I've been living in this town for 9 years (13 if you count going to college), and I still don't consider it home. Unfortunately, financial considerations dictate that that's how it's going to be for a while. (Unless one of y'all wants to marry me and take over the farm? I'm a good cook, but a horrible mechanic. Me and machinery don't get along too well. Kind of a drawback for being a farmer. But cows and I get along very well together. Well, unless they're Angus. Red Angus are okay, but I'm not very fond of the black ones. Okay, tangent over.)

The point is, I'm going home for ten wonderful days! And as we only have a dial-up connection at home that ties up the phone line, I probably won't be around here very much. And I won't miss you at all! Well, yes I will, but I'll be having a good time.
