Sympathy for the Lawyer

Saturday, November 19, 2005 6:28 PM

So, it’s half past six on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of a very cold British winter and what, pray, am I doing?? (that’s rhetorical by the way, as I’m about to tell ya …)

Am I slapping on make-up and getting ready to go out on the town?

NO!

Am I snuggled up under a quilt at home, watching FF and eating popcorn??

NO!!

Am I round a friend’s house, getting ready to eat their carefully prepared nosh??

NO!!!

I am, in fact, at work, ensconced behind my desk in my cold, dark and miserable office about 40 minutes drive from my home, trying to work out just when Saturday morphed into a week-day!

So please, feel sorry for me! Oh wait, I feel sorry enough for myself!! It’s my own fault – I said I was bored at work, I said I needed a challenge – mark my words Browncoats, be careful what you wish for!!!

Anyone got a pizza???

To prevent further instances of this I recommend reading the Dilbert Principle. It teaches many survival techniques for the business world.

But, for now... courage.

I feel for you. It's 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday and I just got home from work. The sad thing is that its a good day and I count my self lucky to be home so soon.

Lots of sympathy from a fellow lawyer.
