Procrastination
Thursday, December 1, 2005 10:53 PM
Does anyone else do this? It seems like the more work I have piled up the more I procrastinate. I currently have 3 papers due within the next 13 days (it was originally worse - 3 in 9 days, yea surprise extensions!) as well as a Russian test on Monday. I finally have time to work on all of it and now I can't focus!Gah!!
Must. Stop. Procrastinating. Now.
Must. Leave. FFF.net. Now.
Any tips/hints/tricks?

I have no tips or hints, aside from disconnecting yourself from the internet. If you have wireless, then like me you are also screwed, lol. I'm in a very similiar situation: I have 2 papers due next week, plus a presentation and finals the week after that. I would actually have enough time to get everything done, if I could just concentrate for more that 5 minutes at a time, lol.

When it comes to procrastination I always remember what my nana used to say. She was full of old sayings.
"Procrastination is the thief of time" she'd say.
I learned alot from her but I still fell victim to procrastination. Now my motto is "Why put off for tomorrow what you can put off till the day after."

ShinyGeeket - yeah, I have wireless, but I need the internet anyway. For two of the papers we can only use the course readings, half of which are only available online.
I am thinking of saving everything to my hard drive and then disconnecting the wireless. I've done that before, during the 3 weeks I only had dialup and it helped a bit, but then I just found other ways to distract myself.
Even if I could concentrate I would still be crunched for time though - this is the only week I haven't had anything major due since early October. Oh, well, at least I don't have any exams!
Good luck with your papers, presenation and finals!!!!
JayTee - That first saying is so true, your nana sounds like a smart lady.
Although I really like the second saying!
Thanks for replying!!!
And for the record I am on a break at the moment. Which is over. Back to work :(

Heh. I'm on a break too. From my qualifying paper, and that's one heck of an important paper (two qualifying papers = master's thesis). I don't understand why I can't concentrate. If I could buy willpower, I would pay handsomely.
