It's new year's eve, folks. Here in Iraq it's just another day, only special because it's one more day closer to coming home. Here on the edge of our world, our western world, our US American world, we are thankful for many things. Hot water. Hot food. A warm place to sleep. Coffee in the morning. Brothers you've shared a year of your life with. Shit that no one else will ever understand.

All those important things back in the world don't mean too much out here. When you don't have much, a little bit seems like a pretty good deal.

So my resolutions are this: Take the world a whole lot less seriously. Be a better husband and father. Be a better person to those people around me. Thank God every morning that I am still here.

You all have a great New Year's eve.

dutch, out.

Thanks for posting, Dutch. We're thankful you're able to be here with us. God bless you and the others out there for doing what you do. Us Browncoats will definitely be praying for a quick and safe return. Happy New Year!
