SHINYTALENT'S BLOG
So, I seem to be doing this a lot lately, but I need some advice or maybe just encouragement

OK as everyone who talks to me or reads my blog should know by now I'm shifting to Vancouver- from Australia- to be with my sweetheart.Well I have been toying with the idea of going over to study- probably welfare- but I'm scared, I haven't done anything like that since I left high school, I just haven't felt ready (I graduated in '02) and now everyone says that it's a good idea and I *want* to do this, but I don't know if I can.
I guess basically I'm just looking for some encouragement more than anything- any other 'coats out there do anything similar, any Vancouver coats out there willing to give me some advice or inspiration?

I'm not from Vancouver, but...
I can send you small batches of vegemite and tim tams if you get homesick.
Does that help at all?

I guess my question is, do you have a back up plan in case things don't work out between you and your sweetie? Will you be stuck in Vancouver? Will you be able to get a job and support yourself and all that?
I think as long as you have your ducks in a row and have a back up plan (I'm big on having back up plans), then why not move? I've always wanted to go to Vancouver myself.

Do you love them? That is the only relevant question. It may work or you may crash and burn. However you're still young enough to bounce back.

Well, I know how you feel. An imminent move may be in my near future as well, for much the same reason. You are still young, you can make it in Vancouver! And, if worse comes to worst, is moving back to Australia still an option for you?
Bottom line, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Why not try it? Specially if you love the guy.
I agree a back up plan is a good idea though, money in the bank for a ticket home maybe?

Long distance is hard, and everybody here is right- if you love him, its worth it.
I've done the whole 'move continents to be with your guy' thing but was silly, and didn't have a plan b, which kinda messed up my finances and general emotional security when it went tits up with my man. So, yeah, have back up.
Be smart, but be brave too.
You can do it!
