Whispers in the darkness,What lies in wait for me?
I fear for a moment,
Then courage grabs hold.
My heart beats frantically
Yet a calm helps me to see.
Prepared for the unexpected
I say, "Bring it on."

That small voice of doubt,
grows to overwhelm.
New seems so shiny; but,
could it be the abyss.
