Fan Fiction

Well... I've always disliked reading fan fiction. It's a weird thing of mine, I guess. More power to you for writing it, but I just never read any I liked.

Now... *sigh*... now I'm writing some. Firefly has finally forced me to add my two bits, and write some of my own.

I belong to a yahoo RPG, where I write for Inara. That's fun. This is different, writing about an original character in the same universe.

I'm scared to death it's gonna end up like some of those awful Fan fics, where the main character gets some smoochy-face with someone from the show (yeah, so I got a crush on Mal.. I'm TRYING to control myself).

*sigh*

Well, I'll see how it goes, and add to it, and see how long I can resist crossing paths with our BDHs.

Sometimes there's more freedom with your own characters, and they don't have to meet the BDHs, after all.

Hey, I don't read the things either... are they written like short stories, or like TV scripts? And what about the Yahoo thing?

Mine is being written like a short story.

The yahoo thing is an RPG - it's written like a short story, but each writer writes ONLY for the character they represent. It's a fun, cooperative story, written, I assume, just like the Firefly Sims or the RP stuff that goes on here.

I know eventually, I'm not gonna be able to resist it - we'll cross paths with our BDH's eventually.

I'm part of a big Yahoo Farscape RPG my very own self. It can be interesting... provided everyone keeps up.
