Over halfway to 50,000

Saturday, November 18, 2006 6:24 PM

Hi, everybody! As my last blog said, I'm not spending much time here this month because I'm trying to write a 50,000-word novel. (See http://www.nanowrimo.org for more details.)

I'm happy to report that I'm at 32,000 words! I never realized how much discipline this would take or how much of the rest of my life would seemingly disappear while I'm doing it. It's not easy, but I think it's probably good for me. I've had some days where I had absolutely no idea what to write, but I forced out those 1,7000 words anyway. Needless to say, it won't be Shakespeare, but I'm trying to keep it from being completely awful.

I've been lurking here quite a lot; it's my reward when I finish the day's words. I'm sorry I haven't been posting much, but I want to thank everyone who has been because it's keeping me sane (at least as sane as I can be considered, lol).

18,000 more words to go!

That's a gargantuan effort SAVEWASH! Especially considering that I have trouble getting to 1000 even when I know what I'm talking about!

Congrats on the 32,000 words then, and as for reaching 50,000...I'd say "Good Luck", but as some here know, I consider that both lame and a jinx.
So I'll use my invented substitute (though I'm sure it won't apply to you, it did to me), "Let's Pray For A Miracle".

No get writing so we can have you back!
