I'm not usually mean, but...

I'm probably giving too much attention to this, but based on some very current reading on this site, some folk need to never, EVER write again. Not Firefly fic, not general fic, not anything. Ever. Next time the urge enters their mind, they need to let it go. Put the pen down and walk away.

I think it's pretty clear to whom I'm referring. No more writing ever again.

This probably would have been better served by a pm to the person in question. If, on the other hand, you choose to call someone out publicly have the balls to use their name instead of veiled allusions to their identity.

Well, we can't all be professional caliber artists with an e and a beret.
That's why we're fans, not the people being all shiny and famous.
Hope my stuff doesn't stink that badly, but if it does folks are awfully polite about it around here. That is one of the things I like about FFF. Constructive criticism is offered and phrased gently.
I have yet to recieve a "you suck, give up, fuck off" from anyone.
(Of course that may change any minute now...)

Uh...while I have seen some admittedly weak offerings in my time here, I would certainly not go as far as telling a person they should give up any effort they can post. Just not good karma.

And like singate noted, being vague in basically calling out someone for seemingly being a hack is just rude unless you use their ID tag. If you want to keep the ID on the down low, PM them and POLITELY explain your issues with their work. For all any of us now, a partnership could be struck where you can help the flan mature and improve as a writer. Stranger things have happened, Rob.
