I had just finish the book my favorite teacher from Lane Tech gave me and it just sucked. Some tragedy "The Scarlet Letter" was, were only one guy died. I couldn't understand any of the writing two-thirds of the time, and it droned on and on and on. The experience with the book must have been what River went through when the secret of Miranda was in her head. All in all, I am so glad that I finish this unholy story, and not so glad that I still have to write an essay on it.DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the elite club of people who have read "The Scarlet Letter"! To your left: Hawthorneian misery. To your right: about ten million people rolling their eyes and asking when that run-on-sentence-of-a-book is over!
Yeah, it's a hard book to read. The Cliff Notes version is actually more interesting than the actual book.
Congrats on finishing it, though!

Actually, I kinda liked "The Scarlet Letter."
OTOH, I've read "Clarissa." THERE'S a book that'll make you want to lobotomize yourself (or to travel back in time and lobotomize the author, publisher, bookseller, and the grandparents of the teacher who assigned it).
