Hi, you may remember me from such fics as...well, maybe not. Holy crap, has it really been that long?Anyhow, I am still alive. Mostly. But my computer is not. It went crazy and fell asleep, and not in a good way. And then, in a separate incident, my external hard storage got trashed.
So. Archived fic gone. All notes gone. Work in progress gone. Novel gone.
That face Mal has? In Serenity Valley? Kinda like that.
It's taken me a while to recover. And I'm having to start everything from scratch. About five years of research and completed work.
But. As you can see from this blog, I now have a new computer. And in the words of Neil Gaiman - '... everything changes. And nothing is truly lost.' Nobody has been sticking needles in my brain (well, not recently anyhow) and somewhere in the funhouse that is my mind, it must all still be in there. Just gotta find it.

Man, that sucks!!!
I hope you can recover or recreate most if not all of your novel, sweetie. It must have felt a bit like having your innards scooped out and replaced with someone's foot...
I was hoping you were just in a scribbling frenzy for the last year, busy getting published, that sort of thing.

Coincidence?: Three days ago my third complete computer crash in two years got me thinking...maybe this novel just isn't supposed to be written. But now you've given me some hope back, thanks.
Good to see you back too--your writing style IS unforgettable in its powers of visualization. :)
You WILL make a glorious return.
And it will be more glorious for having to figure out what you wanted and having the blood, sweat and tears to prove it. Cheesy--but sometimes cheesy works.

From one presumed dead Browncoat to another, I am glad to see you back in the saddle, SpaceAnJL...your literary presence is something all the newbies need to experience. Though the news of your computer dying, thereby taking out your masterpieces (for the moment, I hope), does pain me some. Cuz reconstruction is never the same of construction :(
