The snow was from last December or January - can't remember which. Sometimes the snow is so bad that they have to let school out early before the pass closes, and sometimes the teachers who drive in from town have to wait at the Gold Strike down on the I-15 to see if the pass will even open.
So far this year the only cool weather day was a fog day last week. As I drove down into that valley, I had to go through a fog bank that had settled in to the bottoms.
I love foggy days. We have them so rarely, but they make the valley feel like Middle Earth.
BTW, there is a horse rescue in the valley called "Shiloh Horse Rescue" which is run by Tony Curtis's widow. One of her personal horses is named Serenity.
