I put the Nathan poster that I got from ALA up in my office. One of my library lunch bunch kids looked at it and asked, "Who is that again?".I asked, "Do you watch Castle?"
"What's Castle?"
"Did you ever watch Firefly?"
"What's Firefly?"
"Have you seen a movie called Serenity?"
His face brighted up. "Oh! Serenity! I've seen that."
"He played Captain Reynolds."
These are some recent winter photos.
This one looks otherworldly. We don't often get fog.
This one also. Can't you imagine Serenity slipping into atmo between those cloud layers?
And a down-to-earth dog. In my mind, Mal is a dog person.

You know, I toyed with a story once where the crew gets Mal a dog to improve his mental well being.
I eventually abandoned the idea because I try to be consistent with what Joss would do, and the only possible happy ending for the dog would be if Mal found the dog some owners with a nice property.
But I still think if it were anything but a Joss-verse that a dog would really help Mal.
