I Think That's It for Me

Thursday, May 26, 2011 2:32 AM

Sorry, folks. I've loved visiting here and reading all kinds of fun posts and interesting perspectives on all aspects of life and entertainment, but I have to take a break.

I live right next to Joplin, MO. Maybe you saw my post. But given the callous, horrible reactions to such a tragedy that's right next door to me--that affects neighbors, friends and relatives--I just can't stomach it anymore. I'd rather concentrate on all the good people who are responding to the tragedy, not the armchair gasbags. I know there are more good people than bad, especially on this site, but I just can't handle the few exceptions right now.

Thanks for the good times.

I must have missed something..

No, you really didn't miss much. If you're unaware of the threads I'm talking about, count yourself lucky and don't go looking for them. That's my advice, anyway.

I thumbed through a bit of the threads, and you are correct, it is not worth anyone's time to read paranoid rantings and political BS. I live in and around Birmingham, AL., and groups in our area and the Tuscaloosa area took up donations to send to Joplin, because we got help from them just one month before for the tornadoes that hit us. If you must take time away from the site, I understand, but know that Joplin is in most of the browncoat's thoughts and prayers (those that allow God on their boat, anyway :D )

Thanks, BSCPantherfan. I know that the majority of Browncoats are decent, caring people like yourself. I guess I just let the few exceptions get to me. Thank you to everyone in Alabama who donated; how are you all doing? You had a lot of damage there, too, so I hope your clean-up is going okay. My thoughts are with everyone affected by the crazy weather and natural disasters this year.
