Well after a long delay caused by my mother being admitted to the hospital I have started writing my fan-fict again. One thing I was wondering is how you guys would feel about the utilization of flashbacks?COMMENTS: 1

Me, I normally avoid them unless it's absolutely necessary. I've seen a rare few occasions where one is actually warranted, mostly if you're doing a comedy or something REALLY post-modern, but otherwise it's interrupting the chronology and story flow to introduce something that could be covered in a few lines in the narrative. I know the rule is show-don't-tell, but flashbacks should really be an exception.
