I hope not! But as I was watching the extras on the DVDs, I couldn't help but find myself a bit smitten by .....no, not one of the actors, but a writer / producer! How wrong is that ? Or is it wrong?

Not that I'd ever follow up with even a fan mail to said person, but I just found it strange.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Is it bad that when I saw the thread title my first thought was of Spike's character evolution?

I should know this, but I'm stumped. Spike's character evolution?

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

I think he's referring to Spike's arc in Season 5, concerning his infatuation with Buffy. You know, hanging around her house (or breaking in), the BuffyBot, that sort of thing. It was more than a little stalkerish (not to mention really creepy).

Ahh yes. The Buffy Sex-bot. I'd wager there's not a male who, at some time, didn't dream for something similar. Did I type that out loud ?

Actually, Spike dances around Buffy for the whole series. First, he's there for the Hellmouth (to cure Dru), and looks at Buffy as a potential victim. Then he hangs around to help stop Angelus. Then he sticks around for a while. Then he comes back after Dru dumps him. Then he realizes he loves her. . .

He's been moving ever closer to Buffy since we first saw him, like a comet falling into glory. Season five was just perihelion.

Now (as seen in Angel), he's drifting back out, into the dark spaces. There'll be a turning point eventually, when he comes back toward the light.

You really could see the development of their relationship early on, and I don't think it was necessarily intended by the writers.

In "School Hard", you see Spike going to The Bronze to track Buffy. But the way he watches her is more than someone scouting an enemy. There is already a definite attraction there. It really hits home later when in "Fool For Love", Drusilla confronts him:

"I can still see her floating all around you, laughing. Why? Why won't you push her away?"

I thought Buffy and Spike's relationship was one of the most well developed (even if I didn't exactly like it).

Ahem. Sorry about the thread-jack. You may now continue with your regularly scheduled posting.

Thread-jack not a problem here. I am in agreement with your take on the Spike/Buffy history. Admiring its development while admitting you're not keen on the whole Spike + Buffy relationship seems a telling tribute to the cast/crew.

I loved their relationship...Hate, lust, Platonic love...it's central to the Buffyverse for me (even though I see Buffy ending up with Angel, and Spike becoming the first ever monk-vampire, heh heh).

It's not that their relationship wasn't interesting, and I love Spike, don't get me wrong. I just felt that the two of them together was seriously unhealthy, for both parties (not to mention the fact that by season six, I pretty much loathed Buffy).

Can I ask who?

On the Angel special features (S3, I think), I remember noticing purty darn quick what a hottie Mere Smith is... not to mention also being one of the best writers the show ever had...

We have... a WINNER! Yeah, she just seemed to radiate cute and adorable. Something in the way she smiles as she talks..... makes me feel funny.

Woooh I won something.
*Does the Kermit shuffle of glee.*
Did you ever catch the extras from season six - where Joss and Marti along with cast memebrs are up on stage, and Joss puts his foot right in it with Marti who is pregnant beside him, and he makes a remark at being: "Not That drunk" and then almost immediately catches how that must've sounded to Marti and tries to apologise for it....

I fell on the floor laughing! It was priceless.

Just started Disc 1 of S6 last night, as a matter of fact. I'll definatly keep an eye out for it. 2 eyes, if possible.

He'd fit right in with this lot:

Quote:

Police posted a guard Thursday outside a chapel at an Orthodox monastic sanctuary where rebel monks remained barricaded following clashes that left seven people injured.

Wednesday's violence involved rival groups of monks carrying crowbars and sledgehammers — and is part of a long-standing dispute between legally recognized monks and a rebel monastery that opposes efforts by the Orthodox Church to improve relations with the Vatican.

Woo hoo!! Just saw Marti in Once More with Feeling ! I KNEW it was her from the moment she showed up on screen, but having not ever seen the ep before, what a HELL of a treat!!! A double treat, to say the least !! What a cool episode!! Too gorram funny! Now I know why so many think this is the best episode. ( And I generally dislike musicals, btw ).

Hee hee!! That was so shiny!!

I was getting ready to ask if you had seen her sing on 'Once More With Feeling', because if you have gotten a crush on Marti then I would think you would enjoy knowing her other great talent
(taking a silly song and making it sound like opera)
besides the whole 'not wearing under pants' thing...

Oh that's JUST great. Thanks bunches. My dull ears fail to pick up that greatest of last lines in Marti's number, so I'm forced to rewatch that scene over and over.

And over

And over and over.

Hope you feel real good about yourself !

Just wanted to add that I can't get these songs out of my head. I figure that's usually how it happens, so I went ahead and ordered the OMWF soundtrack .

What has become of me ?
